In 1998, The Spice girls were on top of the world, Going on a world tour, Geri left right before the 40 Date sold out US and Canadian leg of The Spiceworld tour was about to begin.

Well In the summer of 98, A little movie called Why do fools fall in love was released,  The soundtrack executive produced by Timbaland and Missy was a hot joint, some of the best R&B and hop hop of the late 90s was on that album.

Two singles was released for two different markets.

The US got Destiny's child "Get on the bus" as the main marketed single, while Virgin records limited actually forced Warner into a contract letting Virgin own the track and just licensing it, Rumors has it Warner Bros paid Virgin about 6.8 million to get this track, that's why it's on Mel B's Solo debut album Hot, Virgin made sure not to let a record label keep it.

The track was a commercial success in the UK becoming the first ever Solo Spice girls single to go #1 in their country.

Still to this day only Victoria beckham is the only spice girl not to achieve a #1 single in their native UK..

The Girls announced that it was actually the #1 song at their Homecoming concert at Wembley stadium,  But they also said She's Mel G since she was married to her Back Up Spice Boy dancer Jimmy Gulzer who she had her first child with Phoenix Brown.

Enjoy a slice of British R&B
