On June 21, 2002, Anticipating was released as the 5th single off Britney Spears' third studio album Britney, alongside I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman (Metro Remix) & Overprotected (Darkchild Remix). It was written by Britney and the song's producers Brian Kierulf and Josh Schwartz. It was exclusive to France, peaking at #38 on the French Singles Chart.
