Well yeah it sounds better with the background vocals. However, it's nice to actually hear her doing her vocal thing. Like i can already imagine her in the studio recording this.

When I share more of these audios, you’ll see that she can carry some on her own really well (such as Crazy) I think with overprotected though it definitely needs the BGV

We been knew she can carry anything. I don't even think her performance in this is bad. Like, not at all. Let's not forget this is Grammy nominated "vocal performance".
