Baby One More Time Dancing GIF by Britney Spears

she didn't have a hit in 7 years

and YouTube exploded 7 years ago (first 1 billion mark reached in 2012-2013):pieceofwhat:

500 million views is already a huge achievement, and it could reach the 1 billion mark quite easily if Britney has another era a la Circus success-wise or FF :truthtea: because people would watch her recent MVS => oh, look, right after there's BOMT/Oops/Womanizer/Toxic, let's see it => +250M views/etc etc (Shakira's recent WW hits (yeah guys Shakira is more popular than any American girl outside the US, and it shows on YT) helped her old MVs to reach incredible views, even though these are less known than Single Ladies/BOMT)

Maybe, but the thing is ever since 2015 or so, it's kept getting a constant amount of views, just like Toxic. They're still the ones with the most daily views out of all of her videos

Anyone have an estimate as to how much artists like Britney make from Vevo plays?

I know the label, songwriters, manager and lawyers all take a cut....

https://help.songtrust.com/knowledge/how-do-royalties-work-with-vevo-videos-on-youtube

"But several experts confirmed with us that, on average, the money works out to between $1,000-$2,000 per million views. Yes, million. At the high end, that’s about $0.002, or one-fifth of a cent, per click. That’s around half of the per-stream payout you’ll get from Spotify, and less than a third of your haul from Apple Music.

This being the music business, that’s not the end of the story. If you’re signed, your record label gets a cut. Got a manager and a lawyer? Them too. Is there a featured artist? An additional songwriter? A producer who made the beat? Did you hire a company to help you get all the money YouTube owes you in the first place? All of them get a fraction of your fraction of a cent. So of the $1-2K, an artist will likely have a few hundred bucks left over at the end of it all."

But generally speaking, how much to artists like Britney or P!nk or JT make from Vevo/Youtube???

Smart tactics, but crap ain’t ever happening if she is under RCA :yaknow: however, if vevo didn’t reset her views, when they were founded, she would have had 4 videos over a billion views
