10 years ago today, Niall Horan auditioned for the season 7 of X Factor UK. Coincidentally, Katy Perry was a guest judge on that episode of the X Factor auditions. After singing his version of "So Sick", the judges weren't very pleased and thought that the then 16 year old needed time to grow, particularly Cheryl and Perry. 

When it came to the votes, Simon and Cheryl gave hard "No"s for Niall whereas Louis gave him a "Yes". However, he needed atleast 2 "Yes"s to move on the next round and thus the decision came into Katy's hands. After a stretched moment of hesitation, she said "You're in Niall. Don't let us down".

Fast forward exactly 10 years to now, Niall is a successful soloist and a member and guitarist of the biggest boy band of the 2010s. 

In other news, One Direction is also reuniting for their 10th anniversary.
