Madonna's original 2003 Video American Life. Relevant then, still relevant today and even more so. Since the song is basically dissing the celebrity status.  Oddly we have a Celebrity as a president or an actor portraying one.

Iconic. I love how the song and the video depict and cover slightly different subjects. But, of course, both of these subjects are facets of the "American life"; thus, it totally works.  The album is a masterpiece, as well. One of Madonna's best, IMO.

Watching an Australian interview. Madonna said She always loved Electronic music. It wasnt until working with Mirwais. That she was able to merge Acoustic music with Electronica. Remember in the reviews of Music. While it recieved Universal praise. The two William orbit tracks were heavily criticized and didn't gel with the Album. 

 

 

Let's be honest. AMAZING WAS THEM TRYING TO DUPLICATE their Grammy winning hit Beautiful stranger (they won the Grammy specifically for songwriting only). I have to laugh when they say she doesn't write at all..

 

American life  however. Outside Additional production by Mark Spike Stent on I'm so stupid and Nothing fails. The album is really A Madonna and Mirwais production.

 

While she co wrote all the material.

 

She didn't co produce as Matt Lauer implied. She produced the album along witu Mirwais.

That entire album is amazing. I discovered it when I needed something just like it most in my life. It’s a great album to help find yourself with. Music is so great for that and Madonna has quite a bit to say if you have the ears to hear it. It’s not all just silly songs and pop beats.

I LOVE THIS SONG! My favourite part is the rap nearer the end. It summarises American culture in an ironic tone. It's so creatively put.

One thing I’ve always admired about Madonna is that she is always one step ahead when it comes to her music. I think a lot of people overlook American Life because of how raw and authentic it is.
