featured! Lady Gaga delays "Chromatica"

Lady Gaga's new album Chromatica was scheduled to drop April 10 (that is, if it doesn't leak weeks ahead of schedule like Dua Lipa's did). 

However, she just confirmed now is not the time for the album to debut.

Gaga wrote fans a note explaining.

"I've made the incredibly tough decision to post the release Chromatica," she said. I will announce a new 2020 release date soon."

Probably. Literally everything seems to be on hold with this virus + a lot of her stans like to buy physical like me.

And it should. I'm just a little sad for Gags because this will definitely derail the rollout. However, if they are able to pick it up once this virus world situation is over, I predict good things for her.

I don't think she should delay. 

The Weeknd just released his new album, After Hours, and it's expected to hit 400K in sales in its first week. People are still listening to music despite what's going on. 

The world needs some sense of normalcy right now. Gaga's music brings people together. I hope there isn't a change of plans.

If Stupid Love aka Bad Romance with a different tune and slightly different words is any indication, she can keep it 

But if this is really a return to roots aka The Fame 2.0 then bring it

And make sure Stupid Love is just a Norwegian iTunes bonus track that is in no way indicative of the direction of the album.

I think she should. Because by next week, Dua Lipa is gonna surge and probably one or two more weeks after that, people are still gonna be hung up on Future Nostalgia. I don't think it's good to have competition and split the general public's attention. So I think she should wait it out a little.

I'm not convinced Future Nostalgia is gonna last that long in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 to threaten Gaga's #1

if i was gaga i would release the album anyways and tell the world 'she doest care about sales' and just want 'bring the world together and keep people connected' with this new album during this hard time.

 

Its a great marketing strategy tho. She doesn't even have to travel and tour/work for it.

Well yeah tea. But I don't mean the charts though. Like, I know some people will still go hard for GaGa even after Future Nostalgia, I know I would. But what I'm saying is she won't get, like, the full potential of what Chromatica could do in terms of sales and impact if she doesn't have the 100% attention of the gays / pop music fans who might still be talking about and hung up on Future Nostalgia because let's face it, some of her fans and pop music fans in general have moved on from her and are currently obsessed with Dua Lipa. She is definitely competition for GaGa.

I'm honestly not sure, but things have seemed to have gone a bit quiet. If it does get delayed I wouldn't be surprised though.

It's also rumoured Gaga planned much more promo and a live performance of (one of) the duet(s).

All of this is said to be cancelled cause of the COVID-19 virus (which would make sense).

Now she could release a superior in June/July, and use it to fuel an album release near the autumn.

Well she could wait, let the horrible Stupid Love die (it's already pretty much rotten though) and come back in summer with a decent first single and video
