Here's the thing while Britney recorded over half of the actual album we might never know why she never went and recorded the other half. Either she was "too busy" rehearsing or she simply didn't go to the final recording sessions which would explain why they called in Myah to record all the missing parts, re-record some of Britney's vocals which were probably deemed unusable or too weak and record brand new songs -- i.e. Body Ache

While on some songs like Tik Tik Boom Myah's vocals and presumably Britney's overlap each other to the point where it's nearly impossible to distinguish one another, personally, the worst offender on the entire album is Hold on Tight. Britney's original voice track was literally destroyed as it shamelessly goes back and forth from Britney to Myah as one giant patchy mess which you can hear better on this acoustic rendition

Britney actually sang most of Tik Tik boom. Also, the last verse of Work B... (hold your hands high till the end) and the second verse of body ache (breathe heavy...you make my body ache) are all her vocals. Britney sings parts of the main verses and chorus in Till it’s gone. She also has vocals on chillin with you.

The whole Britney Jean fiasco really is so insulting when you look back. It just showed a complete disregard for her fan base that her team literally thought we would just lap up anything Britney released. I still don’t feel like it’s a good enough excuse for them to say she was “too busy”. At the end of the day there would be no tours, residencies, money if it wasn’t for the music. Somewhere along the line her team forgot that. It’s embarrassing for Britney too as an artist who at one point in her career fought so hard for creative involvement. 

It’s also crazy to think that so many people stan Work ***** as a Britney song when it’s effectively another person singing it. I try to pretend Britney Jean never happened. 

This is the problem when you force someone into doing something they don’t want to do. Had Britney been given full creative control over her albums she would come up with something special. She’s never going to do that as long as she’s controlled and we get albums like this.

100% this was the case. Had they got away with this and BJ was a massive success - the next album we’d have got would have been another Myah Marie album. Her team check on here more than you’d think. Given the backlash they didn’t try it again hence why we got Glory. It probably would have suited Britney too as I get the feeling she hates her voice and it would have avoided her being in the studio.

Honey you're an icon but really I'm sure TIG has some Britney vocals. It's tiny amounts, but there's some bits of her voice, I'm sure.

Listen closely at the beginning "My heart's never gonna be the same" - it's clearly her. And then the fugly Myah impersonation comes back

I really want to thank you for this. It took a ton of time and people here tend to throw hate at anyone who tries to bring up bj.

I think they really fkd up on this album. I think producers were all over the globe for different tracks and they couldn't get her to places to re-record and or polish up shaky vocals. Because of her schedule which was very hectic ide imagine it to be so.

I don't think britney is absent in the red parts of now that I found you. I swear I hear her there haha.
