No she will not. This is always the trend. There's a pretty poppy girl like Britney and then comes the anti-pop girl (even though she is still pop herself) Avril Lavigne. Then you had Selena Gomez, and Lorde came around. Now we have Ariana Grande and here is Billie. No shade to Avril and Lorde, but they haven't been as relevant as the first 2 years of their fame. Avril has maintained a presence all these years but I wouldnt say she is iconic.

Im a huge avril fan & I get your point she’s iconic to her *fans* it makes me sad that she’s actually releasing some of her best most personal music but because of how the music industry is now people aren’t seeing it they want music to listen to immediately it n change what their listening to the day after. It’s sad really but it’s like Britney they want singles now it seems not albums. One of the most annoying things I find now is artists like Billie & Ariana is that it’s just  *fads* Ariana released her last album because she said she was already bored of her last one that had been out what a couple of months?? I miss artistry where artists like Britney and avril put work into their albums how it looked, how it was promoted, performed, toured, everything.

She screams fad

THIS!!! Oh and Btw...,

..., what ever happened to Lorde??? :snooptoya:

I know she released her 2nd album about three years ago (which is an eternity in music) that didn’t take off like ‘Pure Heroine’ did. Lorde was everywhere in magazines and radio. Now, crickets. I never even hear her name nowadays. It’s like :idkha: Wasn’t Lorde the hottest thing in teen emo-alt pop at one point? Wasn’t she supposed to be iconic too? Wasn’t Lorde considered edgy, cool and different like Billie E? Really, where’s Lorde at now? I can EASILY see Billie Eilish falling off the pop radar within two years. By then she’ll be 20 and forgotten.

Funny tho I heard Royals on the radio this morning which today is like an ‘oldie but goodie’ / ‘remember that kind’ of track. No intro mentioning her name or nothing like “hey remember Lorde? Oh, yeah we’re throwing it back to 2013, here’s Royals. :britdrown:

Rly tho It is hard to tell if this newer artists have any real staying power but to answer the question, no I don’t think B.E. will be iconic someday. :tiffdrink:

Billie Eilish's fame shot to stratospheric heights in the last year. She's only 18 and has already achieved insurmountable success. Do you think one day she'll be iconic like some of our faves? Or will her 15 minutes be up soon?

Billie has mad potential. She has a great ear, she has great depth to her writing. But her sound hasn’t evolved at all yet. Every song sounds the same. While the sound is fresh at the moment, especially compared to the trend-hopping pop stars, it doesn’t mean people will continue to seek it out in the future. Her debut was a statement. She’ll need to continue that forward.

Look at Lady Gaga. ‘The Fame’ was a phenomenal album, And such a statement debut. But imagine if Gaga just kept throwing glitter and dancing in her videos like a repeat Britney, on her sophomore set? Do you think Gaga would be GAGA as we know her today if we didn’t get ‘Fame Monster’ with it’s darkness, and then ‘Born This Way’ with it’s deep social archetypes?  Now compare GaGa to a few years earlier in 2002 when Avril Lavigne debuted. Huge statement record with ‘Let Go’, but her follow-up was more of the same, then she started trend-hopping with ‘Girlfriend’.... and now her career is a back burner.

Billie will face a similar challenge next as to how she presents herself ..... that will decide where her career goes.

I think there is just something about her idk... I really like her as a person and a music star, not really listening to her songs but she already has some things that help make someone iconic: original signature look and way of singing.

Today if you dress an oversized green sweater, put on a green-black wig and short oversized pants, everyone would recognise you as Billie. So she really did that with her clothes, it's already well remembered and rwcognisable you know.

Same with singing, or should I better say whispering:whatitellu: it's already kinda "iconic" to me... Just the way it was with Britney already in 1999.

So I think even if she doesn't stay relevant in the near future, she will be lowkey iconic.
