ColdAsFire89
... to remove VMA 07 entirely from their program and never showing it in their countdowns or VMA anticipation / hype videos? Link to comment
JeNny_C
Not sure if they were paid off or not, but looking back the performance wasn't horrible. Of course there was definitely something off and it looked bad at the time but looking back, she's so iconic that even though the performance was bad we all still like to look back and watch it. Not glad that it happened the way it did but seeing it now makes me happy just to see her on stage...guess I just miss her Link to comment
Content Curators Britneyarmy8 Posted November 30, 2019 Content Curators Share Posted November 30, 2019 why would they want to include that tho its iconic but its not good lol Link to comment

MeAgainstTheMusic_
I remember in FTR her asking if they played the 2007 VMA performance and them saying that they ended the countdown with “the kiss” (obviously referring to the 2003 performance) so she is aware that it was heavily criticised. That being said it wasn’t something she reflected on as car crash or embarrassing. She just said you have some amazing performances and some “ok” performances On reflection she’s had worse performances since then but it was that she was having a really bad time in her life and that we were so used to iconic Britney performances and we’d never seen her like that Link to comment
Irvine
not everyone sees it as bad as we do. For general public it was normal performance, she never fell, wasn't obviously drunk or anything Link to comment
KarTRASHian
Okay I love that performance and tbh when you watch the rehearsal video it's almost exactly the same. That being said, I don't think they were paid anything, I think they personally choose not to show it because they were embarrassed Link to comment

Most fans actually see it for what it was and can sympathise with her mindset during that time. Link to comment
falka
That gave Braun the rights to all of the master recordings for Swift's old music, meaning that anyone who wanted to license one of Swift's old songs to play in a TV show or movie or an ad would have to ask for Braun's permission and pay him a licensing fee. maybe with Britney is the same. mauureee
Hope they do the same with the Make Me performance and not show it ever again GM is still so much better than that Link to comment

Everything in the world is like that. In the Zone pop-up thing in january is just a 3rd party who wanted to buy the rights. They have nothing to do with Lou or other, but Lou kinda owns the brand Britney Inc. Right now, so thats why her name is somewhere. Link to comment

Steel Magnolia
I think MTV and her Team just came to an "agreement." Downplay the '07 performance and give her some trophies in '08 in exchange for access to her through FTR. Link to comment

I think Britney herself or her team could have sued MTV for letting her go out on stage like that stating that she wasnt in her right mind to chose, and their production profited from her bad state instead of taking care of her. They didnt hesitate to ruin her after all she has given for the mtv vmas and not taking any moon man home for YEARS. So im sure it was an agreement. Mtv showcased her comeback, and gave her the amount of moon mans she should have been getting for previous hits, in exchange for her team not taking any legal action against mtv Link to comment
