Out of respect, Madonna still holds the title of Queen of Pop. Britney has, however, had way more influence in pop music and pop culture over the last 20+ years. All the new pop girls cite Britney as their inspiration over Madonna, as they grew up with Britney’s music. But to be fair, there would be no Britney without Madonna. She is the queen, Britney is the princess, let’s leave it at that. -
nothing she did during her conservatorship would’ve gained her any tittle to be honest. the only reason she had success was because of her career pre-conservatorship. -

I would say Queen because Britney created an entire genre and an entire generation of singers. Madonna follows trends. Madonna started revolutions elsewhere, though, through humanitarian efforts and breaking traditions. So depending on how you see it and resonate with it, you could also see Madonna as the queen.
