Well.... Everything. Every girl in the business after her, from Katy to Gaga and from shakira (post Whenever wherever) to Baylor Jwift owns something to her.

Britney redefined what it means to be a 21st century pop star, the entire package. She was the pretty blonde young pop prototype. Everyone who’s come up in her wake have been influenced by her. Obviously not everyone enjoys her as with any artist, but she’s iconic and still grabs respect from so many people. Britney’s name is synonymous Pop and the youthful American pop star flair she crafted and helped to create. 
 

She definitely brought back the celebrity perfume too. Back then it was really just and old lady thing, like Elizabeth Taylor. Curious and then Fantasy were huge! Britney brought teens and younger women into the perfume game and helped create a large market. And her fragrances are still so yummy and amazing.

She was the blueprint modern day pop star. Every pop girl after her has emulated her to some extent, some extremely obvious (Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore) others not so much but you can definitely see the impact. And sure there were other pop girls at the time who were around but none got to Britney's level of fame. She literally had it all, the charisma, looks, popularity & talent.

That's what made Britney a star and a cut above her peers, no matter how she looks, what she says or does people are naturally drawn to her and that's not something that can be manufactured.

I don't think we can pinpoint one specific attribute that she "redefined" because its obvious the influence pop idols before her had in her career. One thing for certain is she brought teen pop back to the forefront and made it "cool" again in a time where grunge & R&B were considered more popular.
