It’s just really insane how much Britney vibes Harley in Hawaii has. 
 

the vocals are very Britney-esque and the song has Hawaii in it

I listened to it for the first time today. Gave it a few goes but it kinda falls flat. Small talk and never really over are better imo 

But I can see what you mean about the Britney-esque vocals. Her pronunciation of Hawaii-aii on the chorus is very Britney. And it’s not her first song to have similar Britney style pronunciation either. 

Katy Perry has kinda been a mutt to Britney in recent years (like why keep bringing up shaving her head twice and justifying your mockery by using your own mental issues as licence) but it’s clear she’s a jealous stan. I can see why though, Katy’s fourth studio effort garnered 1 top 10 song and it’s already forgotten and Britney’s came with Toxic sooo

I could hear Britney sing it. But yeah.. it's pretty basic pop song that any pop girl could sing.

It's extremely basic. Never really over wasn't great, but definitely better. Still better than the awful small talk, worse than any song from Brittany Joanne

I got in my car and it was playing and I thought it was SP for a sec. although slumber party actually packs more punch.

It does sound like Slumber Party and I hate both songs lol. Katy must be working with Justin Tranter who ruined Glory with underwhelming choruses and Gwen's last album with generic suckage.  Sorry, Tranter is a one trick pony.
