They always skip the VMA 2000. WTF, its iconic from beginning to end. Miles better than the VMA 2001 one TBH. And I love them both.

All this video did was make me depressed. The guest list this year is so weak. Pop culture was so vibrant and unique back then, and MTV was seen as the hip and cool channel still. Idk what happened, but somewhere along the line in 2012-2013ish, pop culture/music really got so boring. I think we’ll see a resurgence inevitable though.

YES, only fans with good taste appreciate the VMA 2000 performance 

 

it's weird how fake he sounds on the video, on The Amazing Race he sounded more "normal" and down to earth, it seems that he's in character for his content vids

For me the last somewhat 'iconic' and scandalous VMA was in 2013, with Miley doing her thing. It was talked about for weeks, and after that nobody did something as scandalous anymore.
