tour Could Britney ever...

This week I went to Jennifer Lopez’s It’s Party Tour and it has me wondering could Brit ever do a show like that? I’ve seen videos of the Oops, Onyx Hotel, and DWAD Tour and she was amazing then and her energy, choreography, costumes, and stage presence was epic but in 2019 could Britney put on a show that’s over 2 hours long, where she’s enganged and talking to the crowd often, dancing with high energy, singing live at parts, and just owning the stage. Everything since 2011 in terms of performances have been so ehh besides the 2016 BBMAS, beginning of POM 2.0 and some of the glory promo performances. Xtina is owning her Tour and residency as well, Jennifer is 50 today and is putting on a show better than the girls half her age and I wonder if Britney could do the same at this point in her career. After being around for almost over 20 years, Britney should be able to perform better than POM and the live in concert tour. It’s sad that this is what one of our favs have come to but it has me wondering? :(( 

Note: this is not a thread bashing Britney’s performances or abilities as an entertainer but just after seeing JLO own the stage with amazing costumes, energy, and choreo. I question if Britney could do the same that’s all

The question is if she still will be performing when she hits 50. Most of Britney's catalogue will sound outdated so I can't imagine what kind of performer she'll be 12 years from now. What will 50-year-old Britney sing about? What will her voice sound like (she still smokes)?

I have lost faith in Britney the artist and it's not her fault.

I love her but I don’t see it. I just think there’s so many other things happening in her life that her being the pop star she once was is just not happening. We’ve been waiting for like 11 years. That magic is gone, and we are lucky if she will even be as good as her tour last year if and when she does release new music.

I saw a lot of hope in dom

1. Usually Britney SLAYS new choreo and by all the insta posts she looked excited to leave pom and start something new.

2. Unlike pom, dom (lmfao) had a great team nappytabs that produced a lot of great tv shows and jlos shows which are great 

3. We were f**king getting overprotected and mp and actually there was another leaked playlist with btmyh

I think Britney has it in her, but it’s easy to see why she may have been feeling so uninspired over these last few years. She’s had a lot going on and I’m sure that we don’t even know the half of it. 

She can do it, and I hope that one day she can find that passion again. She’s still Britney, so I won’t ever count her out.

Britney can perform better than any of those pop girls cause the talent she has is out of this world.She is an outstanding dancer and an incredible singer(real voice) the thing is she definitely has stage fright,somehow they managed to control it during 2016 but 2017-2018 was pretty bad.I mean we all saw the videos on insta of her dancing and she looks like a different person.She might also be over the whole pop star thing but idk

Britney only has to look out the window of a plane towards a crowd waiting below as she flies far away, and they will give her millions. Jennifer Lopez has to work her culo off to get a few mere pesos.

I don't blame Britney for taking advantage of this.

It wasn’t really like that tho it was more just a greatest hit show that celebrated her career and who she is

Yeah I get that but she did say she was turning 50 and wanted to celebrate turning 50 with a tour. I love her but I thought that promo pic of her on a cake is a bit tacky. Its the same feeling I had when she and Alex posed on vanity fair. It’s just my opinion.

in my ideal world....
Britney would  take a year or two off, go travel the world, just be a tourist not just see the back of the hotels and the venues she is performing, get inspired make new memories go see few concerts take notes 
Then call up Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez since they all seem to be very much grounded 
Maybe plan a play date with their children and start hanging out
She needs moms in the business to share experience of juggling work kids and love life and just to have fun
Call rihanna she is bit more mature now i think she still has that sass but talk about fashion 
Go to her hometown visit old friends and start writing new music and work on her artistry costume designs stage designs band practice hang out with the band more have few jam sessions 
Her sons will be teenagers soon so...tricky age... she has the knowledge what not to do maybe guide them a little 
and most importantly find herself

The fire in her eyes in the BOM video thumbnail alone displays just how much her stage presence has regressed. Watching her most recent performances is kind of like seeing her do a Kid's Bop version of her own self. It's telling because the choreo is fine, her dancers look great, but she waters it down and plays it safe (unlike rehearsals).

She's just silly all the time now (with few exceptions here and there). But for the most part, even in the "****" sections of her shows she seems uncomfortable, like she's embarrassed, and just comes off looking awkward. 

I'd die to be a fly on the wall at rehearsals though.

At least she will never be able to dance and sing after she never sang live in her career. Also Jlo and others lipsynch but Brit completely lipsynch. She only got big because of her look, stage skills and songs but not because of her voice.

However, is it realistic? The difference between J.Lo, Janet, Beyoncé and all these other pop stars well into their 30s, 40s or 50s who are still slaying and outperforming their younger selves is that they genuinely care. Britney can't be bothered anymore. She still serves great looks sometimes and the occasional good performance (BMAs 2016, some POM dates 2016-2017) but she's nowhere near as consistent as her contemporaries. I understand that she's shy and gets nervous easily, but how can someone go from this:

 

(I.e. commanding the stage like an artist who's been doing this for 50+ years, doing a **** performance in spite of being surrounded by a bunch of people in a small and enclosed space, all while dancing seductively and emoting the lyrics perfectly)

TO THIS:

Looking nervous af while doing a choreography that looks like something her sons would come up with + her overacting doesn't correspond to the song lyrics at all.

We still love her, but the difference between Britney and J.Lo etc. is that we stan a woman who no longer sings live at all, she rarely interacts with the audience, and she willingly got rid of her older more challenging choreography in favor of doing atrocious Zumba for Kids dance routines.

she used to have such swagger man! and rhythm. She really embodied the music and had almost a manly attitude somehow, really badass. loved it, and haven't seen it anywhere else

i still like britney but im not the same fan i was when i was 10 or even 20
