(Old thread) A complete list of every single Britney Spears song intended for each album

Recommended Posts

Super comprehensive list.

There's a lot of songs on this list that I love that I'm not the slightest bit surprised were intended for, or at least offered to, Britney.

I'm glad Britney didn't end up with Beautiful, that song always felt too pretentious to me (although I think Pink would have made it actually work).

I'd love to hear Pink's version of Girls & Boys, I can already hear her singing "price to pay".

I really wish Britney ended up with Get Outta My Way. I LOVE Kylie's version (in my top 5 songs from her), but I feel like it would have been the hit it deserved to be in Britney's hands.

Do you know what team B (or team Con?) should do since they’re probably desperate for cash… not that I would want this as a means to benefit her handlers BUT if she has this huge catalogue of songs she’s recorded but never released, they should do a “Britney Spears: The Unreleased Singles” album of sorts. I bet everyone would buy it. Songs from every era that were recorded but didn’t make the final cuts. What a treat that would be 😋 One can wish…

Finally found your thread @PlayboyMommy

I have some stuff to add or ask, so maybe we could help each other. Finally added the Shawn Desman and Scorpio clip to my demos section ,so thank you so much for that!

  • It's a Secret: Are we sure this was for Circus? Even though this was sent to Jordan during the Circus era, it could very well be a reject from Blackout, it shares the same sound... I could be wrong though.
  • No Way: When I posted this song, James from The Original Doll Podcast confirmed me that this was done during the sessions that Gaga did with Fernando Garibay, but only Quicksand was sent out to Britney while No Way wasn't affiliated to it nor pitched to her.
  • Diary of…: This one got me shocked! Did Michelle Bell said that this was for Blackout? I really thought they did it during the same sessions as the other ITZ demos.
  • Armageddon: Frankie Storm already debunked this demo, said it wasn't for Britney on The Original Doll Podcast.
  • Rules of Attraction: James from The Original Doll Podcast confirmed me that this was done for another project, not for Britney.
  • I'll Remember You: Galantis debunked this one on Twitter when the You video was posted on YouTube.
  • Peek-a-Boo: This was debunked. The song was exclusively produced for SM Entertainment, meaning that only an SM artist could have gotten it.
  • Secret (Shh): This wasn't given to her, Karen wanted Britney for it, but Charli got it first. Pop The Ballloons was offered to her though.
  • I would add Etta Bond's Royalty to the Circus list. Etta Bond confirmed it to the channel britneyadmiring from YouTube through Instagram's DMs.
  • Why are Hate You (Charli XCX) and Lips (Rowe) from Britney Jean not listed?
  • Insane: I’ve consulted with Myah through Instagram and she said Insane was not pitched to Britney. https://ibb.co/598Wnbv

Thanks for your input!

A lot of people, myself included, have had trouble accesing the original post in the past so I've been working on a MS Word document that can both be edited and shared by anyone at any time. It looks pretty rough so far but I'll definitely be correcting those songs you mentioned :)

  • As I mentioned last time, I just took a wild guess and assumed that it was meant for Circus. Back when the Welcome to Me snippet first leaked everyone thought that it was a Blackout outtake when it was actually recorded in 2003 so I could very well be wrong too but it being recorded in 2008 makes the most sense to me. You can definitely list it as a Blackout demo on your page though
  • She has never personally confirmed it but she co-wrote the song with Peter Wade Keusch and she only started working with him in 2004/2005 so it can't possibly be an In the Zone reject. Plus B&A later pitched the same backing track with another topline to Jennifer Lopez in 2010 and I very much doubt they would offer her a track that would have been eight years old by that point
  • Even though the song wasn't given to her per se it was intended for the album at one point which has always been the goal of my thread. For instance, Beautiful by Christina Aguilera was neither written for Britney nor was ever actually pitched to her but at some point Linda Perry considered giving it to her before she ended up giving it to Christina which is more than enough for me
  • The only reason I've never added that song or any of the Elle Vee demos is because neither of them has writing credits on any major pop record to be honest. If I were the count every single song that got offered by every single aspiring songwriter and producer the list would be endless
  • Lips was debunked back when it was first 'leaked' iirc. Both Hate You and Pop the Balloons were claimed to be Britney rejects by the people who leaked them but other than that there's no solid evidence suggesting that. Charli only ever mentioned working on pitches for Britney Jean with Starsmith and William Orbit. Hate You came from the same session as Heart in My Pocket, does that make it a Britney Jean reject too? Pop the Balloons has also been attached to Little Mix and I personally find that more believable since Charli has also written other songs for them
  • I definitely remember Myah mentioning that it was written with Britney in mind, along with Feet on the Ground in an old MySpace post so I don't know what's up with that honestly. It clearly was made by the same people

Does anyone know why I can't access the first page of this thread? I've been trying to read it for months, but it gives me a 504 error. I've tried three different browsers. It won't load on my phone, desktop, or laptop, and I've tried two different cable internet ISPs and a mobile network. It just doesn't load. Would anyone mind quoting the first topic or something?

Thank you so much for answering!

Deleting Lips from my section and moving Diary Of... to Original Doll, since that's the only track from Michelle that was actually done after In the Zone.

I get why you haven't added Etta and Elle. I think Elle will have an interview with the Original Doll podcast soon, so maybe she will talk about that. She recently told me she actually got replies from Britney's team, but, yeah, only to tell her the demo was rejected.

Maybe it was confusing at that time, but recently Myah has only stated Feet on the Ground as the only submitted track. She already debunked Candy from Strangers, Plastic and Insane + Confirmed Masquerade (Femme Fatale), Lover Boy, Siren for Britney Jean and Black Widow for Femme Fatale. Probably Insane is the same case as No Way/Quicksand.

Understand the Hate You and Pop the Balloons scenario, but the source of both is the same one that leaked Heart in my Pocket aka Pretty Girls, so it's probably legit.

I  kept having the same problem. It only worked for me when I used my laptop and clicked on page 5 under the post's title on the homepage. Then I went to page 1 and it worked. I'll comment and quote the first topic, in case u still havent been able to view it.
