What’s controversial in 2018? Nothing, at least not in the provocative sense. If you’re talking a hit, then the girl needs something catchy and generic enough for the gp, but something undeniably Britney for the fans, a hot video, at least one big performance or 3 smaller ones, the perfect timing, and a push from the label to radio and on Spotify. A feature with a streaming giant or a radio darling wouldn’t hurt either. 

 

So as you can see, it isn’t impossible just... unlikely. 

 

They should focus on creating a great body of work with timeless visuals and getting another #1 album (she can still easily do this).

Yeah. Aiming for something attention grabbing in 2018 is a losing game. People have done/said crazier things than Britney would ever dream of. She’ll have to rely on quality (she doesn’t have a problem there 99% of the time), timing, support from her label and promo.
