The Dream Within a Dream Tour was the fourth concert tour by Britney Spears. The tour was promoted by Concerts West. It was directed and choreographed by Wade Robson, who explained the main theme of the show was Spears's coming of age and newfound independence. The stage was designed by Steve Cohen and Rob Brenner. 

Most of the performances were accompanied by extravagant special effects, including confetti, pyrotechnics, laser lights, and artificial fog and snow. In the encore, there was a water screen that pumped two tons of water into the stage.

Overall, the Dream Within a Dream Tour grossed $56.8 million and sold more than 1 million of tickets in 68 shows. The tour was broadcast live on an HBO special on November 18, 2001, and went on to win an Emmy for Outstanding Technical Direction on the 2002 ceremony. A DVD titled Live from Las Vegas was released in January 2002.

I went to the 2nd leg!! I just showed my friend the HBO DVD who had never seen a Britney show and he was impressed. I told him not to get used to it bc she doesn't perform like that now but he respected it.

So many amazing moments:

It’s even more impressive considering she was a freaking teenager when she did this.  But that’s also a double edged sword, because by the age of 19 she had accomplished a tour that would be impossible for her to ever top. She even acknowledged it herself: “By the time I'm 30, there's not going to be anything left for me to do.”

I watched this live on HBO when it first aired, at my granny’s house because I ain’t had cable then. My friend and I were in 10th grade and we sat there, jaws dropped, eyes bulging. f**king phenomenal!
