I just read a YouTube comment that said Britney should’ve been shot for having “the audacity to cover it”.

I don’t think it’s bad, I don’t really know the Original well so it’s not like I can be insulted. Do you guys think it was a good idea to cover it?

(And do you think it was a good idea to cover so many songs early in her career?)

I think it's cheesy. I'm not a big fan of the original but it's a classic and they tried to make it as much bubblegum pop as possible. Ew. And people say that I Love Rock&Roll is a bad cover - whaaaat?

I dont mind any of her covers but I think my preogative is her best.

I started liking Satisfaction after the VMAs and I like her dance break during the tour. Im a very visual person. I can totally hate a song but if It has a great music video, performance or just cool choreo I will eventually like it.

I love Britneys Statisftion but dont like the original, and the same with I love rock n roll. When it comes to My prerogative the MV is everything you could wish from Britney, and the music is good, but the vocals are a total disaster Britney literally screaming on it, Bobby is singing it way better, but still couldnt listen to his version more then 5 secs.

I prefer Brit's cover lol I am sure they are flattered because she opened up the song to a new generation and also because they get paid a little with each album sale... its every money-hungry songwiter's dream.  I am sure they made at least 100k from her cover alone.  AT LEAST

Her version is very unique, I just find it bland in comparison with the original. I did like how she used it in the VMAs though, it's just that the album version drags and it's often one of my least favorite parts of Oops.

I love her version and the original! She did a really fun take on it. It's sad that rock fans are so rude to say Britney should be shot, especially since Mick Jagger himself said he LOVES Britney's version!

I love it. Especially because of her VMA 2000. And I love that she was fearless that early on in covering those songs.

Unpopular opinion alert over here but it’s my favourite cover she’s ever done. Yes The Rolling Stones version is a classic, but Britney put her own spin on the song and made it her own. Her version really was that good in my opinion, it was fun and catchy too. I can understand Rolling Stones fans don’t like it but Mick Jagger said himself he enjoyed Britney’s version so

Leaving behind the comparison to the original, the song is "meh" to me. For Britney's standars during that time I think it was a good filler but just that, I used to skip that song for so long until after 5 or 6 years when I play the full album and I thought "it's not that bad as I thought it was" but it's not like I played the song more than a few times.
