I have the opportunity to attend the Austin, TX show with my best friend and haven't decided yet whether or not I should go. I've loved Britney since 1998, but have been extremely unimpressed with POM the past year or so, and doubly unimpressed at the tour footage this summer. I hear a lot of competing thoughts on here from people who have actually attended, which is further confusing my decision-making. I asked Exhalers to weigh in when the tour first started, but now that it's close to winding down, I thought a formal poll would give me a better representation of concert-goers opinions. Thanks in advance!

For me it definitley wasnt. Yes I get to say that I saw Britney Spears live and that the fans around me made it a fun night out but was it worth the money? No. The stage and production are cheap so there is nothing that will impress you there, the choreo is shitty and performed poorly most of the time so that wont be impressive, she doesnt sing so you wont be blown away by her vocals and to top it off she is constantly rixing her hair to the point that even people sitting far in the back comment on how annoying it is.

If you get drunk and have a lot of friends over and play the Setlist on Spotify super loud you will pretty much have an equally enjoyable experience imo.

I didn't go to the tour, but I went to Vegas and to those who have the chance to go, I'd recommend them to do so. Britney slayed the show I attended (16 April 2016) and I had a blast. It is an amazing feeling watching your favorite artist live and POM is an enjoyable show, especially if you know what you are going to get. I know the lipsynching is obvious and some of you are bothered by her costumes and lack of props, but the setlist is amazing, numbers like WB, BTI, MATM or GM are great and Britney's dancing, hair-fixing and all, is still good. Not always perfect technically, but energetic. Far better than it had been for almost a decade up to 2016. Many things should be improved for her next show in the future, but you never know when she's going to tour again and the next residency is around the corner, so I wouldn't miss the chance if I couldn't go to Vegas.

I was in Antwerp and I truly had a blast seeing her live. It was my 5th times seeing her and I would say this was the best one so far. I was front row as I was during Circus and FF but this time was truly different. SHE was different I mean, very present and alive (FFney was half asleep and looked she was pissed to perform there...) and entertained by what she was doing, or at least I had that feeling. She actually was the best part of the show, the rest was meh. Of course the dancers are also great but the show is just cheap without literally any wow factor. If I wasn't a fan of her I would say it was a waste of money. I mean, it's just too cheap of a show for a star of her caliber.... So I would say, if you go, try to be as close as possible to the stage, otherwise it's just not worth it. I would give Britney a good 8 out of 10 stars, she still has it and even if she just lips to her CD tracks and her dancing is not amazing she is still a great entertainer, while the show itself is a 4... her worse one so far production wise.

I think her show is too expensive if we see what she gives us in return. But it was my first attendance at her concert, I just wanted to see her show live (for the very first time I saw her during her lingerie line promotion in Warsaw). So at bottom I really can't tell if it was worth the money I paid.

So this is wholly irrelevant with respect to my OP, but since you're here, I figured I'd ask! Do you have idea where I can watch the Xtina Stripped Tour Live in the UK? I had the DVD a million yeas ago, but lost it during my many intercontinental moves. It's the only tour of hers I've seen live thus far (albeit not that particular date), but I loved the UK DVD so much and on youtube it's all been pulled; you can only find really crappy versions of the individual songs (like, with a tiny screen showing the actual concert, centered around a giant fanmade Xtina background), which I'm assuming is for copyright purposes since a lot of the individual tracks have been pulled anyway, despite the terrible quality. I'd love to see the show again in full, in its original glory. TIA! :)

If you have the opportunity to go, you definitely should! Who knows if you'll ever get the chance to see her live again and I promise you the show is much better in person! It's a completely different experience from just watching a video online :) And it's Britney Spears, so I'm sure you'll have a great time! ;)

I can’t say about the tour but going to see POM in Vegas was worth it. I’m the kind of person that look at things at a whole rather than focus on one thing and so I know Britney always delivers a great experience even if she herself isn’t at her top game. She killed it when I saw her but not only that, the production made it amazing to see in person and it look larger than life in person plus being surrounded by fans and happy people just wanting to have a good time just adds to it. I don’t want to be standing critiquing how she is doing as I don’t have an attention span for that.

Yes, it is worth it. It’s Britney, c’mon.

But I had to pay premium price of 230euros to get ticket... I think even Onyxney is not worth it.. concert tickets shouldn't be THAT expensive... but oh well... yolo :tiffhair:

Well, that's the thing, The tickets are like $600, and I'm not rich. I'm not trying to shade Britney here; I love her. But I simply don't have the disposable income to spend $600 on a show that may or may not even be that enjoyable. Plus, she is the second-day headliner following Bruno Mars at this racing event, so I'm guessing at least half of the audience is wholly wasted, attending solely for racing, and thus isn't a fan of hers at all. That'll be a very different atmosphere than a venue/arena filled with singing and dancing stans, which I'd be far less reticent about attending.

I have seen her once previously, for the Circus Tour, and I honestly wasn't impressed at all (with the exception of the fantastic production). But, considering she had just had a breakdown in front of the entire world, I gave her a pass. It was amazing she was there at all, frankly (albeit arguably unethical; I believe she should've been recovering in private for minimum of one year).

Henceforth, I avoided the FFT completely when it came to my town, because things seemed to have steadily deteriorated from bad to worse. And now, there's a big discrepancy amongst fans regarding the current show. I would've definitely liked to have seen it in Vegas (circa revamp/2016, that is), particularly because the show was built specifically for that theater, and the props and production go a long way. But the tour itself appears so bland that I'm pretty shocked the ticket prices are still so damn high.

I'm just conflicted, because in the event she doesn't tour again (at least for a long time), I'm afraid I may regret it. And I don't know if I'll make it for the next residency either, given my postdoc schedule (and meager salary until I pass the EPPP and start tackling these 100k+ of student loans).

Hah, sorry for all the personal background, of which I'm sure you haven't the slightest bit of interest. But I do appreciate the feedback!

I love the objectivity of your response. I'm very much a, "nothing is black-or-white, every area is a varying shade of gray" kind of person, so I like when people can articulate both the positives and negatives of their experience.

However, it does seem like the people who actually attended POM in Vegas nearly universally enjoyed it (at least on here), so perhaps I should just wait for the next residency and try to attend that one. Plus, then I'll have at least a couple years to save up beforehand.

I accidentally voted no but I meant yes!! It’s much better in person and with all of the crowd. YT/Insta Videos don’t give you anything close to actually being there in person. It’s a great show and Britney kills it. Truth.  :pumped:   :cutebrit:   :bbmaney:

I'm glad all three of you loved it and appreciate the feedback! Would you guys mind sharing with show you attended (leg, city, date, etc.)?

POMney is underrated imo, she gives endless energy, and if you see the full show live, you can really see how much she is on the stage without breaks. She isn’t as good as she was in her prime, but she is still a strong performer. The ticket prices were fair compared to many other artists, so I would say it is worth it. The only disappointment for many is lip syncing, but at this point almost everyone knows that Britney Spears does not sing live, and it is not as if she is a powerhouse vocalist anymore anyway.

Piece of me in Vegas yes! I had such a good time the 4 times I went.

piece of me tour when she came to nyc nope. I paid just as much for seats towards the back as I would have right by the stage in Vegas. Prices for the tour are outrageous and she just looks sloppy. But that was early on not sure how she’s doing in Europe because I stopped paying attention.

but if you’re thinking of Austin. Get that 3 day pass thing. Bruno Mars is well worth it for the price. He always puts on a good show. And Britney will just be the added bonus.

I saw her in Vegas a few times and each time was great but we were also close to the stage and trashed (Vegas trips are always crazy, I honestly do not remember the last 20 mins or so of the first time I saw her because we pretty much blacked out because the drinks at the axis are so huge in these big POM cups) so I had a blast every single time. Vegas tickets were way cheaper though, I don't know if I would have paid for the traveling tour

 :xfactorlook:

anyway the videos definitely do not do it justice, but I also haven't watched much of the tour, only to see clumsy and no seas cortes - I definitely wouldn't go if theres no catwalk??? because that was one of the coolest parts of Vegas was the stage, she was never too far away or confined to a basic stage. the show without a catwalk is weird

I would actually recommend u try to save up and travel to vegas for the next residency instead. idk how much of a partier you are, but the atmosphere of Vegas plus Britney's music is so much more fun and I think its a better experience than seeing this tour on the road.

For me it was worth the money....I haven’t seen Britney, herself, performing with such energy in a very long time....and I’ve seen every tour and went to Vegas for POM 1.0.    Big productions are great but If the star is lost in the middle for a reason it’s not a good thing.

I enjoyed seeing Britney in such a small venue as well.  Haven’t seen her in a place that small since her first tour.  She was happy and looked great as well.  I just consider it a club performance and not a full scale show....I was expecting a watered down Vegas production but at least I got to see her perform more new material which made up for it.  I left the venue happy to have attended.
