When, why and who decided that Britney fans should be collectively referred to as the "Army"? Doesn't it make more sense to be called "*******" instead? I mean, other than the fact that she invented the word, we basically are her ******* what with all the mediocrity we pay for and how we then ***** about it, yet will not let ANY one else come for her...#earlymorningthoughts

britney's "army" existed before fandoms started utilizing nicknames. it was given as a result of how militant and aggressive some would be when it came to defending her. now it's a tchotchke.

Because it was the fanbase name given to us back in 2007. The GP/media decided that we are Britney's Army because of the lengths we went to in order to defend her. No, it did not begin in 2011 or because of talentless.i.am; it was earlier than that.

I never liked the name tbh, I prefer Britney's *******.

But yeah this has been used since 2007 because fans defended Britney. Then, the army theme was used in the Circus Tour, and then we also had the rise of fan base culture. Gaga started calling her fans Little Monster. Katy and Rihanna followed the bandwagon ..etc.

Considering it was around 2009 when the whole fan name thing started, I always thought “Britney’s Ringleaders” would’ve been better for us.

i cant count the number of times people have asked me on social media if I’m in the British armed forces cause I have “Brit Army” or “B Army” listed.
