Why Is "Oops!... I Did It Again" Britney's best album?

Let's look at the facts:

- Out of all her nine studio albums, "Oops" has a Metacritic score of 72, which is her highest to date.

- Grammy nominated. Not everybody has that to their credit.

- It was also the better album than both "No Strings Attached" and "Black and Blue", both contemporaries released under the hit-factory of Max Martin and Rami.

- Aside from Max Martin/Rami, it features producers and lyricists only an artist could dream of: Darkchild, Eric Foster White, Mick Jagger, Shania Twain, Mutt Lange, Diane Warren - to name a few. Mind you, she was only 18 and not even two years into her career and yet she had this a-list team of songwriting and production excellence.

- Did I mention VOCALS.

- Every single song on the album could have been a single in 2000 and had the potential to smash.

- It's her most cohesive, consistent album with hardly any filler, unlike the rest of her studio albums which have at least 1 or more disposable songs.

- Despite what many bandwagon and believe that "Blackout" is her most 'influential' album, it's actually "Oops" which further shaped the landscape of female pop music in the 2000's.

- 'Oops!', the song is also her strongest lead to date, alongside 'BOMT'. 

So, what do we think? Is "Oops!.. I Did It Again" the real winner here? Discuss.

Oops is in my trinity for sure. I wasn't around back then to be a fan (I was 2 lol) but going back and listening to it in 2018, it feels cohesive and very sweet. Very poppy which is why she's known as the princess of pop. And yeah I was surprised to hear how actually good it really was, as a whole. I made a thread here some time ago asking for recommendations as a baby stan, and one thing people told me was to maybe leave BOMT and Oops for later, to go into them with a different mentality. But, Oops is honestly so good. I was just listening to it again. And it was the inspiration for so many other female artists during the 00's.

But I still believe Blackout and Glory are better. They just sound better, as a whole. Glory sounds the least cohesive out of the three, but still sounds strong as a whole. Blackout is the CD every pop diva from 2008 on copied (maybe including Britney herself, Circus feels like a weaker Blackout). Blackout and Glory hold up today better than Oops. You do have to go into Oops with a certain mentality, as good as it is it sounds like cheesy 00's. And that's awesome for the people who are into that, myself included.

Hmm... I have a weird relationship with that album. Honestly, I don't even know a lot of the songs. Aside from Oops of course, I know Satisfaction, Crazy, Stronger, Lucky, little parts of Don't Go Knockin, Last to Know, and little parts of What U See, and the last half I don't even think I've cared for more than a 5 second listen. Omg am I bad fan? I'm listening to the album now and it is actually good

Oops is def not her best album but it IS a really good pop album! ITZ, Blackout, Circus, FF, Glory are all better.

Omg I was 14 when Oops came out.

I don't care what anyone on this forum says...

BOMT and OIDIA are pop album CLASSICS and are two of Britney's best albums to-date.

It was also the last time we heard Britney REALLY singing.

it was til november 2003 when ITZ was released.... It remains the superior album from her first 3 for sure though. And easily a top 5 album overall. I'd even dare to say top 3

Honeshly truly oops is an iconic pop album the interludes/segments after some songs or intros were perfect the album gave us a story of the girl who isn’t as innocent as we think she’s actually stronger than you thought you can’t easily have her although she doesn’t get exactly what we would think and she still is waiting for her love and it’s all in her diary ...

Yes, for me it is.  It was In The Zone for a while but Oops came back up and I prefer it to all Britney albums now
