One of her worst performances tbh. Sloppy hair, outfit, dance moves, etc. I think it was right after her first knee injury too so that explains it.

I really love her voice too.   I would much prefer her singing live like this and doing basic/slow moves like in this video.  Or at least for SOME tracks (like the less dance-heavy ones).

I wouldn't say Janet Jackson is her idol.  I would say her primary idols are both Madonna and Janet Jackson.

Let's not forget that she was heavily choreographed/manufactured back then.  All those dance moves she was 'inspired' by from Janet were dance moves from choreographers, not the artists themselves.  (Janet herself never even choreographed anything.)

We really can't say she looks back fondly at any of it.

Back in the day she would always cite Janet as her inspiration, covered her songs, dressed like her, and danced like her. It's only been more recently that she stopped mentioning Janet and instead just bangs on about Madonna.
