Late 2016 in a British Radio interview I think. She said she had started experimenting in the studio and meeting with writers and producers to work on her next sound.

It's not really that hard to believe! it's very obvious Britney need a change I think she's bored of pop music she's the only artist that never changed her style in music for years! Glory was kinda different and it was just the start. I can see her music changing with time. let the girl grow  didn't you ******* always wanted her to have a new image

If anything of this is true, It will be a good step to put Britney on the spotlight again, last year spanish/latin vibe music owned the WW charts (Depasito, Hey Ma, Havanna, etc.). Im really into an album with retro vibes too (Ariana's and Bruno's albums worked really good) ... after a few hits and a GP listen of her music, Britney can make a deep and experimental album (like Lemonade by Beyoncé), otherwise it wont work.
