Remember Her Ankle Injury Of May 2015...?

Looking back now, I'm surprised she and her team actually didn't continue with those shows. Obviously she couldn't dance and she couldn't do costume changes and she wouldn't have sung live, but I'm genuinely surprised she didn't sit on stage on a stool/chair/swing and lip sync for the entire show. I know they reschedules those shows, but still... Team Spears love their money and they don't care about quality...

Anyone else surprised they didn't do it? :gloss:

I cant believe how obviously they lied to us. She obviously hurt her ankle but they said she tore some ligaments. I tore some ligaments in my ankle and couldn' walk properly for 4 weeks and couldnt'  wear heels for months. Lmao. And she took her boot of and played in sand (a very uneven and painful surface to walk on with ligament damage) and came back wearing heels after only cancelling 3 shows. I feel like they felt like they had to overdramatize it to  get away with cancelling shows. When really a minor injury is a good enough reason. No need to aggravate a small injury and risk it becoming a big problem.

Not necessarily true. It depends on how severe it is, on medications, recovery time is also subjective. :girlwhat:

Ligament tears always take moths and sometimes rewuire surgery tho. They could have just said that she strained or hurt a ligament but TEAR? Lol.no.

Again, not true. Minor sprains resulting from small tears to your ligaments will generally heal on their own within a few weeks, with appropriate medication, even faster. Check "grade I ligament sprain". She never stated that it tore completely. :shameless:

All jokes aside, I wouldn't be surprised if she cancelled those shows to catch her breath. We all saw the videos and she went down hard. She had just announced her first televised performance at an award show since 2008. Everyone thought it was gonna be Outrageous 2.0, and she'd cancel. I wouldn't be surprised if she did minimal damage but scared herself, so her tear decided it was easier to slightly exaggerate it, than have her go onto ellen and say ''well, its not that bad....but I'm so nervous that might break my ankle at the BBMA's''.

I did think her random and very short Ellen appearance was weird. It felt like they were trying to prove to the public that she was hurt so they could cancel the shows or something.

You're not her doctor so you don't know the severity of her injuries? And it wasn't a laziness thing, those were literally one of a handful of shows britney has canceled in the past 10 years

ok so i basically have a degree in athletic injuries and am currently working on a masters degree. it is very possible for her to continue her life with an ankle sprain. there are multiple degrees of a sprain and she most likely only had a minor one. obviously it is still very painful and at the moment when it happened i doubt anyone would want to continue on. over a short time people can completely heal from these injuries.  with her money, she could have easily been injected with a steroid shot to keep her going.

basically there is somewhat of a tear but it is only partial. her body can heal on its own without the need of surgery. her walking on sand is actually a good way of rehabilitating the injury.  she needs to force herself to work her ankle more to come back to her normal self quicker.

when i first saw the sprain i thought it was dramatic but then realized it wasn't that serious because she was able to finish the show fine. it was obviously only a minor sprain.

She did on Ellen.

no she didn't. she said she sprained her ankle, and tore ligaments. she did not say "i tore many ligaments in my ankle to an incredibly severe degree and will be cancelling my vegas shows for a weekend, so feel sorry for me, because my injury is deathly serious and will greatly inhibit my ability to perform, as well as my ability to walk on sand".
