femme fatale is one of the best pop albums OF ALL TIME.

i said it. i just gave it a listen in full tonight and WOW i'm absolutely blown away all over again. i truly believe it's her second best album ever, following in the holy zone. yes, i think it's better than blackout. yes, i think it's better than glory. every song on femme fatale is a true experience. a ethereal experience filled with pop perfection from start to finish. every song is incredibly infectious with the best of best that a pop hook can offer. every song sticks with you. the production is absolutely top notch, you can't get better than this. i actually think there is quite a bit of variety on the album too. don't get me wrong...it's all radio friendly and a bit "generic" in that sense but each track has it's own flavor. the biggest complaint about femme fatale is britney's vocals and her lack of involvement. while i can't refute those points I will say they don't take away from the quality of the record. britney barely wrote on blackout and nobody has a problem with that (i know she executive produced blackout but still).

what else do i love about femme fatale? we have the more light and airy songs, reminiscent of her bubblegum days, ala i wanna go and how i roll. then we have the darker and grittier productions, ala the groundbreaking masterpiece hold it against me , the seductive seal it with a kiss, and the missed single opportunity inside out. i actually think those songs sonically are similar to blackout in some ways. we even have a few deeper tracks on the album, criminal and he about to lose me. while britney didn't write these songs i actually believe she has a connection to them both, criminal specifically. the are both very well written. criminal has always touched me in some sort of way. i find it indescribably beautiful. i hear emotion in her voice, like she did actually love what she was singing. dare i say she sounded more into criminal emotionally than she did any glory track? femme fatale is her best and most timeless 2010s record. whether you want to admit it or not, a lot of glory is already a bit dated. we won't even get into myah jean. femme fatale is a pop masterpiece and I'm tired of it being one dirty. hate on me if you want ******* but I just spilled some tea! :lemmetellu:

p.s. britney please stop paying hold it against me (one of your best songs ever) dust like you have been post-2011. it's unacceptable!

Big Fat Bass

personally, the only song I dislike on the album is don't keep me waiting. i can respect it for what it is but I've never been able to get into it. big fat bass would technically be the second "worst" track if i ranked them all in order but I've come to enjoy it for what it is. it's meant to be nothing more than a fun party bop and I think it succeeds in that area, still very catchy I'd say. her vocals on it are undoubtedly a mess on it though lol but I can accept a screw up or two on an album, they happen. wasn't there proof she recorded big fat bass very late into the process too? that was likely a factor.
