I feel like Britney has given up.

I've never known a popstar to do the same show for years. Other Vegas acts don't even do the same show outside of Vegas and for festivals. They change it up. 

Britney obviously feels like she has nothing else to offer. This is sad. We need to now accept that she's not the popstar we want her to be and never will be again. She's a nostalgia act that will release albums here and there for fun but will always bank on her legacy. She knows she doesn't have to give anything fresh to make money, so she won't. The POM Britney we have is the Britney will will always have now.

She hasn't given up bc she's still working. There are two main problems:

1) It's not a career for her, it's a side hobby. And she treats it as such which equals lazier performances, bad costumes, using the same show for 5 years, etc. Pretty much the bare minimum. 
2) Her team doesn't seem to be pushing her to do anything cooler than what she's doing so we get a bunch of lame projects. For instance, I would have much rather she done big festivals like Coachella and Lolla instead of this mini POM tour with random af cities but I don't even think doing that kind of fun stuff is on their radar.

Those two things together make for a pretty boring pop star.

Celine literally took her first Vegas show on tour after she did it in Vegas. Then came back with a new Vegas show

She takes this as 25% of her life...the other 75% is her boys, her male & her personal stuff. She doesn't know how to balance everything, probably coz she's not interested in doing it 

And yes, her team leaves her in the comfort zone

I obviously meant modern day. You guys love to give Britney so much credit for changing thing and yet none of the modern acts in Vegas do this.

Is she really working? She barely gives 5% to this show. This is not work. This is Britney on auto pilot, not giving a ****. She doesn't know the words to the songs or the dance moves. 

This is her career. You can lie to yourself all you want but she is a popstar. That is her job. 

You cannot always blame her team when we hear so much about how lazy she is. She was ok with this. It's Britney not pushing for a new show. It's Britney not asking for better costumes. It's Britney not learning her choreo or the words to her songs. At some point you need to put some of the blame on her.

It definitely working. She's doing what she loves to do and getting paid for it. It's a different level of work though which is what I get into in my two points. And point #1 is about Britney herself. Most of the blame goes on her but point two is saying that she doesn't have a team that pushes her so we get what we get. I'm not making excuses I'm saying that those are the two reasons. The alternate right now is that she doesn't do a Vegas residency, no tour, no new music, nothing. I think it's a good idea to take the show to ppl who weren't able to make it to Vegas. But the truth is Vegas lasted too long. This should have happened two years ago instead of her resigning. Then we would have got Glory and a new tour specifically for Glory after. But now she's promoting Vegas just to re-sign with Vegas for new shows this year, it seems very odd that's she so addicted to doing this one type of show. Either way, I've never seen her live and she's coming here so I have to go. But I kinda agree with you

Did you just recently figure that out? And yeah this is it for Britney. It’s up to all the fans whether or not they want to take it or leave it.

Which is exactly what Britney is doing. Britney is the millennial’s Celine Dion when it comes to residencies, Vegas style tour spin offs. It’s likely they’ll add more European tour dates for the end of this year. After this tour wraps up Britney will be back in Vegas at MGM with a new-ish residency.

Most residency contracts are a minimum of 2 years. The writing is on the wall. From here on it’ll be mini tours then Vegas shows. Repeat. Repeat.

2013-2017: Vegas residency

2017: Asia POM mini summer tour

2018: POM US + mini European Tour

*2019 - 2021 (?): MGM Park  Theater in Vegas. 

Possibly adding another 2 year extension at MGM PT if her shows do as well there as at PH. So that’ll be 2023. It’s likely the majority of Britney’s 30s and early 40s (and her later years) will be spent performing in Las Vegas. 

That is better than nothing I guess.

@Britneyisfire What are you talking about? Britney changes it up all the time. Look at how many dance breaks she cut out of her Vegas show the past few years!

And have you seen the current pop acts' shows? They consist on giant screens, no props, 6 backup dancers at most and 0 dancing. They just pretend to be singing live with prerecorded vocals while doing painful faces as if they were suffering a lot while "singing". Who wants to see those boring shows?

At least Britney gives an entertaining show. Ask whoever has gone to POM or any of her previous shows
