( no but u know what I mean, like she was not even 20, she's nearly 40 now, I mean, what's important to the fans or pop culture in her life might not be for her. :yaknow: )

lmao nah i feel you. i just think about like things in my past that to me where huge events & i still can remember what occurred during them for the most part, maybe because she has done SO much its a lot harder for her to recollect all of those past performances/events. i just want to see her acknowledge her past to SOME extent & stop acting like she didnt create the legacy she did during the start of her career.

something DEFINITELY happened in 2010

i've been a fan for over 10 years and there's absolutely no way she changed that much for no reason

This. Especially since she was still Britney on the Circus tour and leading up to FF. The quieter 2010 breakdown or whatever happened, I definitely say its what did it.

Her saying that kinda reveals she doesnt care much for her own music

But we knew that already, lmao.

Had to have been there's literally no other explanation for it. & it had to happen around the 2010-2011 era because she was completely fine in For the Record. 100% coherent & aware and then somewhere along the line after that everything slowly started to deteriorate.

here she recalls her early music video shoots with pretty great detail, even a camera falling on her face during oops, and many interviews after where she recalls old moments and encounters

you guys really need to stop throwing around conspiracies and offensive rumors about Britney’s mental health just because she has awkward interviews occasionally or doesn’t remember one random thing that we do and stop pushing this dumb narrative that it’s something new or something “happened in 2010” because any fan who thinks that doesn’t pay attention. her behavior during the for the record countdown was blatant discomfort and Damien could barely get words out of her about her iconic moments.

So idk why some people continue to pretend she miraculously became awkward in 2010. The scene with Madonna in for the record itself is also cringe

I will probably be seen as crazy but shock therapy is a real thing. Sometimes I wonder if they did that to her after her breakdown because of how gone she was. I feel like if they did that would explain why shes no longer who she is. She lost who she was more in 2010. They changed her meds because her voice pitch changed and so did her body. I will always love Britney. She was my childhood and the only singer i have idolized. It is just so sad to see someone who was the Princess Of Pop go down this mediocre path. She is such a sweet person and I just hate to see how things have turned out for her in life. 2007 might of gave us Blackout but it was the worst thing to happen to Britney.

A lot of regressed memories, perhaps.  She seemed to want to push it ALLLL the **** back.

Well, she does clearly say in this interview that she doesn't like to look at the past at 1:10

One thing people don't want to realize is that For the Record is a heavily scripted documentary, particularly when she's narrating details.

I think when she's on camera most of what sh'e saying is probably from her, but off camera it's mostly scripted.

Ok, I thought about this a lot and I actually came up a way out of thinking like this

think about what you were doing 20 years ago

I was four years old

can you imagine someone saying "omg you were so happy all the time, why did it change?"

like, wtf, 20 years, yes I have changed

but then you say to me, thats not valid, you were a kid

ok, let's skip to when i was 15 and I performed for this dance school I used to go to

there was one time I went to a competition and I did this routine with some balloons, and at the end someone would lift me up and I went super high on stage and stuff

i got prizes for that performance

now ask me if I remember ANYTHING about that performance, from the outfit to the song, NO

NO recollection of it and it was an important moment in my dancing career

when I started to think like this I realized she does remember a lot about her career, even when she shouldnt have to

you all, think about what you did 20 years ago and ask yourself if you are the same person and thinks the same and if you remember everything about an event from that year

also, remember that you are not a celebrity and you dont have the schedule that she had

i mean, just the variations of choreo from one award show to the next, and the vmas werent even a thing when she did bomt there, the other performances she remembers more

i find it easy to understand why one wouldnt remember things from a long time ago come on now

She is a completely different person now that isn’t something that anyone can deny. She used to be vivacious, witty, approachable. She’s a shell of her former self but who can blame her? I mean we can only imagine what she has been through. She’s lived the life of a 70 year old and she’s only 36. Her trust has been completely batterred, people used her and abused. She’s been made a spectacle for other people’s amusement...she thought her life would be bliss when she got that record deal when she was 15 but it turned into a hellish nightmare. She’s literally been drugged, taken advantage of, stalked, had her kids taken away from her diagnosed with mental health issues at the age of 26 and at that point she already had two kids and two marriage under her belt.

I would be amazed if she wasn’t a complete different person. You guys need to remember that most people that go through that kinda hardship develop PTSD. Everyone wants to forget about their pain and move on. Hell I suppress things from I was younger so you never know she might be doing the same thing to cope.

She’s clearly still heavily medicated so I have a feeling that’s having an effect on the way she moves too.

And in regards to her not remembering things...she honestly doesn’t give a **** about the significance of her performances. She will do eventually but at this point it probably brings back bad memories.

The thing is... we see all these moments as iconic, but she was just a young girl caught up in this whirlwind of success and never really had time to take it all in. She's too humble to see how truly memorable and influential her past work has been like we do, which is probably why she doesn't think about it or remember a lot. She just sees it as something silly she did back when she was a kid.

Yeah i got this feeling too, like it's 2 different person. I have a hard time to imagine primeney being like currentney, currentney like primeney. The way she behaves, everything it's just like it's not the same person. The fact that her face looks so different doesn't help either. When i'm watching performances now i'm like, who's this ? Where is Britney ? Where's the attitude ? I mean even when she serves attitude, i don't know it's just doesn't feel the same. There's something weird and that changed in her. I can't explain.

I've thought about it many times, that she needs to sit and watch old performances with someone who'll let her know who she truly is as a popstar, how important and legendary she is.

And I agree, people focus on the dancing but it's not the dancing that makes her seem so different. Circusney kept walking, but there was no doubt that you're looking at Britney ******' Spears, the full of attitude, bad *****, princess of pop.

I'm not saying this in a mean way, I love Brit yesterday, today, and tomorrow. But she does seem like almost a completely different person. I know some changes are natural, but like the OP says, this is severe. Certainly she has some sort of mental health issues. Do you think it's possible she was given electroshock therapy? Or possibly even a lobotomy or partial lobotomy? I know these are extreme and uncommon today, but they ARE still performed. And the people running her life seem pretty keen on her continuing to be a cash cow for them, so it wouldn't surprise me if they took some pretty drastic measures to ensure she's easily controlled. Both of these procedures are know to cause partial memory loss and changes in personality. This, combined with a lot of psych meds could explain it. Does this sound plausible to anyone else? i've wondered this for a long time

Hold on a second. Us fans remember all her performances cause we watched the videos many times . She probably watched it once right after it happened or the next day. She's obviously not going to remember every little detail like her fans do. Also she has had sooooo many performances that she'll not be able to remember each one perfectly. And it's been a long time since then. It's like asking you what did you do on your school play 15 years ago? What did you say exactly?

I get this but it was her first time performing on the VMAs. if anything, I'd imagine u remember those major first moments. But everyone is different.
