Britney Spears Album Production Cost Question

I was wondering... How much did each album by Britney Spears cost to produce? I know that Tempted by Mitsou (released in 1993) cost half a million dollars to produce. Mitsou, a French Canadian artist, TV/radio host and producer, was signed to Hollywood Records at the time.

Therefore, it's not a stretch to believe Britney's albums cost just as much or even more to produce since, at the time, she was signed to Jive Records and was their top promoted artist and soon became a megastar.

With recording technologies widely made available, producing a top quality album may cost a whole lot less, but Britney works with top writers, producers, engineers, musicians and goes to top studios.

90% of the time writers and producers aren’t paid per song, they’re paid royalties from each song depending on how well the album or single sells. This also promotes writers and producers to make each song their best work so that it sells well and makes them a lot of money. Therefore, the initial outlay for writers and producers is negligible.

The main costs come from graphic designing, PR costs, management costs, man-hours in the offices, sound engineers and the wages of all the label executives. Writers and producers are then paid royalties once the songs have been released and start selling.

Another large chunk of an albums cost comes from hiring out the studios for the artists to work in. This is a big reason why most artists have studios in their home so that they can test out their sound and record demos without costing a lot of money. This also allows them to practice their songs and get the sound just right before paying to get it professionally recorded and mastered in the expensive studios

Does she have a home studio because that would explain alot ... does she even sing in her alone time and make music and songs for fun?

She does have a home studio. Her and Jason did a photo shoot there in 2012. I’m assuming she has one now too

The thing about producers and writers getting paid in royalties only is not true. They still get paid to make or write the song, the motivation for them to make it good is so it can make it on the final cut or have it played in radios so that they get a percentage of the royalties. They aren’t gonna put time and effort into something only for it to not end up on the album and not get paid. Timbaland charges a  minimum of 500,000 to a million for his songs and that’s not including the royalties. Blackout, producers said Britney paid them after each session. She records tons of songs for each album and obviously they aren’t all gonna make it on the album so the producers and songwriters that got cut basically worked for nothing? They get royalties because under copyright that’s their work that they created so if someone else is making money off their work, they need to get a piece of that.

Also the budget doesn’t include paying the label executives, the label counts on the profits from the sales to get paid. That’s why they take a large chunk of the album sales and why artists themselves get very little. That’s why singers tour because they barely see that much from sales hence why singers like Beyoncé demand credits so she gets a little more percentage. Thats why Britney isn’t motivated to do promo because she knows she will work her *** off promoting something that will only benefit the label.
