Lace and Leather - Totally underrated track! I never see any love for it here on exhale! The production isn't amazing but it's a fun song.

Shattered Glass - I like it a lot, but it feels kinda short. Everytime I listen I feel like I'm waiting for the climax and it doesn't come :/ ends to quick for me.

Kill the Lights - I love this song. It's one of my favorites in Circus, another underrated track :/ but I can understand why it's not for everyone.

Showdown - It's an okay song. I don't love it nor dislike it. I like KTL better :X

ILRnR - Freakin love it, and the performance of it in POM is one of my faves.

DYWCO - Overrated track imo. It's okay, but nothing special. Would've flopped harder than SP as a single.

1. Lace and Leather - never was a big fan

2. Shattered Glass - not bad not amazing

3. Kill the Lights - i like it more than i used to

4. Showdown - smooth cut, i never skip it when it comes on shuffle

5. I Love Rock N' Roll - pretty denote cover but nothing more. she could have done prerogative in vegas instead of this and it would have been a better part to the set.

6.  Do You Wanna Come Over? - single worthy, glad it made the setlist and she performed it for gam

These some of her more mediocre songs imo. Maybe mediocre is the wrong word, but I just don’t care to listen to them much, except for DYWCO. They’re not bad, in fact, I enjoy them when I listen to them, but they’re nothing special. Showdown and DYWCO are the best off this list imo.

That's a significant part to why I picked most of them.

So I can get what members think of them individually.

I was hoping for every reply to be a track by track assessment, like a few posters did above.

1. Lace and Leather - Fun track, sugary ******** anthem in the same vein as Up N' Down but a bit misplaced in between Mannequin and My Baby. Would flow better with Quicksand as the follow up.

2. Shattered Glass - I love this track and it's euro / electro sound. It's very relatable and it's not a terrible kind of filler. Works a good transition from a ballad track to uptempo.

3. Kill the Lights - I feel like this is the second most polarizing track on Circus, behind Mannequin. It's just "ok" to me now. I don't hate it, but it's kind of a callback to Blackout but just not as good.

4. Showdown - A highlight on In The Zone. It's ****, slinky and has just the right amount of minimal pop / dancehall production to transition from the prior hip pop / crunk style song to the next trip hop *** jam.

5. I Love Rock N' Roll - I love the music video and the performances, that's what kinda sells this song for me. It's kind of cringe otherwise. I would have rather had another Neptunes track here.

6.  Do You Wanna Come Over? - It's a hot song. The fanbase overrates it to the high heavens (would not have been a good lead single) but I still bop.

Lace and Leather - Love the track, one of my favorites from Circus

Shattered Glass - This one had a lot of fan hype that I never got, I like it enough but didn't get what all of the fuss was about. Like the sound effects in it.

Kill the Lights - I really like the lyrics in the song but it's one of my least favorites of circus, felt like a failed attempt at a blackout track, really generic, didn't like the sound effects.

Showdown - Used to be one of my lesser favorites when I first had the album, but now I actually like it a lot, i think she sounds super **** in it

I Love Rock n' Roll - LOVE. One of my most played, I think she sounds great on it and her version is WAYYY better than the original :reductive:

Do You Wanna Come Over - I like the idea of the song but..... :squintney:

  • Lace and Leather: A cute song. The bass/guitar (?) is nice and I always loved the opening line, "French fingertips, red lips, ***** is dangerous." Rarely listen to it though.
  • Shattered Glass: The lyrics are pretty powerful. I can't help but think, "damn..." while listening to them. I like the song a lot, but just don't really listen to it (same with the rest of the songs on this list). It also sounds kinda unfinished to me. It sounds like a demo that was professionally mastered. It definitely sounds a bit dated/cheap too now. The production reminds me of a song that would be made for a tv show popstar making fun of Britney and 2000s pop stars, like Ginger Fox on iCarly - the production is very stereotypical mid to late 2000s pop to me.
  • Kill the Lights: This song is somehow both good and bad to me, at the same time. I like the dark and "on edge" production, but it's also Danja's worst production for Britney imo. Some instruments/arrangements of the instrumental just sound cheap and cheesy imo. It, like Shattered Glass, feels unfinished, like this was the concept for the song, and I can see where they wanted to go with it, but it's not the best it could be yet. The bridge is really good though, and I do like the dark and edgy chorus, I just think it could be a better song overall.
  • Showdown: I ******* love this song, but I rarely listen to it. I love the soft, high, breathy vocals. I love the way she exudes sexiness and confidence in her voice effortlessly. I love the energy of the song. The high, breathy vocals paired with her confidence, playful tone, cocky lyrics, and high energy of the song make it very, very "Britney" to me. Even though it's not anything outstanding or unusually good, it's a song that perfectly captures classic Britney in her prime for me.
  • I Love Rock N Roll: It's good. It's definitely fun when you're in the mood for it, and can do good on a workout playlist. That's about all I have to say about it.
  • Do You Wanna Come Over: This song is the most classic "Britney" sounding song on Glory. It sounds like it could be on In the Zone imo, and that's a good thing. It has that playful, confident, **** tone in her vocals. It's also very unique in its song structure and the sound of it. I think it had potential to do well as a single, and maybe even becoming one of her classic remembered hits if it did well, just because it's so distinctly Britney. There were better songs on Glory that I think would've had more appeal to the GP if they had heard them (Make Me, Slumber Party, Better, Change Your Mind). They fit better into music trends of the time, but if DYWCO was a single and had success, I think it'd stand out more, be instantly recognizable as a Britney song, and remembered more for it's uniqueness and how "Britney" it is. MM, SP, Better, and CYM would be like TTWE in their success: potential to be hugely popular, but forgotten over time since they fit into trends. DYWCO would be more like Toxic (although it's nowhere near as good as Toxic) if it was successful, where it's very unique and distinctly "Britney" enough to be better remembered and more timeless.

also, could I ask why you're doing this? Just curious. :umsaywhat:

everything about that is correct! it had the opportunity to be huge. it makes sense to do the lead single with g-eazy since he is doing well right now. but this could have easily been the lead single or at least the second one. for sure not my favorite song on the album but the GP would have loved it and it fits with the whole tinder thing right now.
