It’s almost 2018 and I still get so angry listening to Glory

WHY, GOD, WHY? :kyliecry:

How could they ruin such a perfect album?

Every song still sounds fresh as ****, she was finally ahead of the curve, something she hadn’t managed to do since Blackout. Just listen to radio or Spotify right now, everything sounds like Glory. No Seas Cortes could have been huge, DYWCO and Slumber Party are masterpieces, Make Me could have been this era’s Toxic. Even G Eazy, the one we always criticized, was a great feature choice for the album, just look at how he’s dominating the charts right now.

Glory was everything we asked for, we can feel the effort she put on the album, and even in promoting it on TV and those endless Festivals (don’t make me cut you disagreeing hoes).

If only her team was smart enough to come up with a better release strategy and had a backup plan after the mv fiasco...

i will never get over it, sincerely. :kyliecry:

Releasing an on-trend album isn’t being “ahead of the curve” though.

Latin influenced music wasn’t overused back then when Glory was released. Shakira released Chantaje just as Britney released Make Me and just after that the trend took off.

let's not pretend like CYM is a latino song just because she says 3 words in spanish :imok:

She sang an entire song in French, but she couldn't sing the other 10 words in spanish.. :imok:

"Yo sé que estás intentando ser educado. Yo sé que me quieres tratar bien. Pero no seas cortés"

Still a bop :groovin:

I feel ya. It's sad that a master piece like Glory is scrapped so soon. The album is her best since blackout. Her team messed up big time. From delaying the release of the Make Me. It was supposed to premiere during the Billboard Music Award. That would had been a great opportunity to release the song. Also the disaster of the music video. They should had let the original come out. The whole era was handled so poorly. The only good thing that came out of it was Slumber Party.

Since when is Make Me latin influenced? It’s R&B / Pop. Just as Glory’s main styles happen to be Tropical House / R&B. Both on trend sounds. She would have been ahead of the curve in 2014 or early 2015 before Revival and Purpose cluttered the airwaves with the sound, instead of releasing that dated abomination with Igloo Australia.

How can it be "ahead of the curve" when it's literally a copy of Revival? You're praising CYM when Selena has two latin music-influenced songs (Me and My Girls and Body Heat)

This too lol. Britney literally spends her time listening to Elvis, Madonna, Prince and Otis Redding yet chooses ******* Selena Gomez as a muse. :imok:

I was talking about CYM, sweaty.

Apart from Better, nothing on Glory sounds even remotely dated yet, it still had a big chance of succeeding. Oh, and Revival wasn’t that much influencial as everyone on exhale thinks, Glory took some influences from it but it wasn’t that original to begin with.

Overall I think Glory is really one of Britney's best albums. That being said, I think Make Me was the worst lead single choice possible, the worst video of her career and, frankly, one of her most boring live performances.

I can really see what they tried to do with Make Me and I’ll stand for it.

Make Me isn’t the best track on the album but it by far was the most unexpected one from someone like Britney. It still sounds just so iconic and different, I like how they took the risk choosing it. Sadly everything went down without the proper visual to support it.

Both those songs failed miserably on mixing Latin music to Pop, they didn’t go all the way, they sound like attempts that didn’t quite work, the result came out flat and generic. Where are you from? I can assure you Latinos didn’t give two ***** about those ones.

CYM is still flawless and caliente. :mcwave:
