Everyone kinda says the same thing.  They were really young, two really huge popstars (Timberlake in his on right, NSYNC was pretty huge)... in the late '90s - early '00s.  They were both doing a lot at the time, it was very hard for them to keep a healthy relationship.  And Britney wanted affection, so she got it from someone momentarily and it blew up in her face.
