So many hit worthy songs on there that would sell so many copies of the album

Before the VMA performance, it was pretty set for Britney, all she had to do was nail everything since there was so much demand and anticipation at the time

 

But the album still did/ sold well

Definitely. Blackout under prime Britney would be a defining and iconic era in pop history ala Like a Virgin. There’s so much that could have been done, the possibilities are endless.

I dont think so. Diamond certificate is not measured by how many singles are sold, it's about how many actual records the album itself sells despite the singles. Neither Britney or In the zone albums reached the 10 million in USA at her prime so I highly doubt Blackout would have done any better. She was highly publicized (for the wrong reasons) but at the time Blackout was upstaged by her personal problems, custody battle, insane behavior, rumors, scandals, etc.
