By Today's Standards, Has Britney Ever Been Problematic?

You know how it is these days, you can't make a move without being called triggering, offensive or problematic by keyboard warriors.  This got me wondering, has Britney ever done anything that would be considered problematic by today's standards?

It's a really good thing that the FF tour happened prior to the whole PC culture because that would have been insufferable.

It's not a kimono-ish robe btw, it's a real custom made kimono they created for her.

The snake performance would have been tagged as animal abuse, the kiss as you said, the cultural appropiation thing too but yeah I can't think of many more. SJWs are insufferable

Her affairs with Columbus Short and Adnan, who were both married at the time, as well as her allegedly breaking up Shar and Kevin.

Aside from that, I can only assume the snake performance and Circus video for using live animals, Criminal and Perfume using gun violence (which got Perfume ultimately scrapped), and fat shaming that pap back in 2007 (“you need to ******* jog, pu$$y”).

Ooh, as mentioned below, her comments on gays ("they're somewhat girls") and Latinos ("I'd love a Latin bad boy/my dad would never let me date one") during the Piece of Me 2013 press tour really pissed people off. The gays one become such a meme on here for months, and we were all so pissed.

Britney’s been relatively non-problematic, actually. But if the world was as “woke” and technologically advanced during her prime, we might have a lot more instances we might not even think of.

This. Not saying she's guilty because she probably didn't even know him but a confederate flag isn't "fashion".

The kiss and the head shave wouldn't be "problematic". Maybe to few deluded white SJWs on Tumblr but that's it. There's no such thing as "apropriating lesbian culture".

The snake was already problematic back in the day, just not as much as it would be today:

So were the Circus animals. The gun violence in Criminal was also controversial back in 2011. Even politicians talked about it. It shouldn't have been that big of a deal, in my opinion. The Perfume one was definetly problematic because of the association with the Virginia Tech shooting. Thank God they scrapped it. Shame the replacement was so bad.

The kimonos are debatable. If she did it purely for fashion without respect for the culture, then it is cultural appropriation. But, according to some Asian lady who met her when she wore one back in the ITZ era, she was very respectful.

Overall, she's not as problematic as many other pop stars. Queen.
