The album version or overprotected is a pure pop song, and it's a highlight on the britney album, also the only pop single she released until Toxic. But is it the darkchild remix still pure pop or urban pop?

It's definitely got more of an edge than the original but do I think it could have popped off on urban radio stations? No, I don't think it was urban enough. But sure urban pop is probably a good way to classify it.

I cant believe britney invented urban pop!

This, it's R&B tinged pop but it's not really 'urban' enough to be played on urban radio. It has a more funkier sound to the original version.
