E! News story on Britney's live performance

Recommended Posts

They just talked about it halfway into the show. It was only part of the "so true, so false" segment. They asked "Did Britney have another meltdown" (again with them bringing up her meltdown......) and of course it was "so false" and they said she ranted about the media during her vegas show and showed a part it and then said she sang live and showed some of it. Then they just moved on.

They acted like it was NOTHING and not news whatsoever. The whole segment was only about 30 seconds long.

This deserved more in my opinion, considering they've done MUCH longer stories pointing out her small Vegas mishaps or just talking about her body.

This, were you expecting some detailed 15 minute coverage OP? :orangu:

Of course not, but I was just expecting more than just "she talked about the media and acknowledged her lip-syncing and then sang an entire song completely live for the first time in a decade.....NEXT!" Nothing is happening in Hollywood right now or even pop culture really and all they ever do is talk about the Kardashina so I just thought they might make this a bigger story. They've had MUCH longer stories on her fitness alone so I just didn't understand why this story was so short.

It may be exciting for us since we never hear her live vocals but to the media, she should be expected to sing live. The amount of media got is amazing since that's what she supposed to do :outwithit: but whatever we still proudly stan this LIVE VOCALIST

People associate Britney with lip-syncing and it's just unheard of to hear the words Britney and "live" in the same breath. And she sounded AMAZING. Yes, she should've been singing live much more throughout her entire career, but the fact the she hasn't in SO long and just randomly did was so unexpected. Just think it should've gotten a longer story. But I guess I can understand why it didn't.

I understand the reasoning behind "a singer singing a song live shouldn't be news" but when people has spent more than a decade labeling Britney as a lipsyncer, and someone that even at the studio can't properly sing and needs autotune and stuff, an event like this should actually make more impact in the news and social media and stuff. I mean, she's made the news because her extensions fell out, or because she took a picture in her bikini, and so many other stuff that is so much more irrelevant than this, one would expect at least a little bit more comments from the writers on the Internet, or the tv presenters, etc.

Do you watch the show ever? They do that segment every day and it IS usually 30 seconds per story in the so true/false. It wasn't shade toward her. That's how the format has always been for years.

I watch the show ALL the time. They put the revelant, more important stories in the first half and just fill the second half with random things to fill the time. Now, she may have been more towards the beginning but I only saw her when it was half over. They have stories that are a lot longer at the beginning. The so true so false segment has very short news stories that move very quickly. They have had much much longer stories on Britney focused on how she keeps in shape or even when she has had mishaps in her Vegas show. This dersevred a better story and more coverage.

They just acted like this was another random Britney moment when in actuality it was one of her best moments in a decade!

Of course if she had a meltdown or something bad then it would be a main story. But at least they bought it up

They only give her a lot of time if it's something negative. ANYTHING Beyoncé does gets the lead story and one that is several minutes long. Britney addressed the media, addressed her own lip-syncing, and sang an entire cover song LIVE. And this was the first time in a decade she has even done this. Yet they only gave her a 30 second segment.......

The only people who know she lip syncs often are the stans and the haters so of course it's not breaking news on E!

She will never be breaking news on E! because they worship the Kardashians and Beyoncé.

But honestly, they are kinda irrevalent and don't get many viewers I don't think so it's whatever.

But what more could they have said? Britney covered a song last night and sang live. It's not like she brought the lady out and they had a duet and they shared a backstory or anything. She didn't burst into tears and have an emotional moment with fans.  I could see them talking about her fitness for longer because they normally follow it up with tips from her trainers on what ppl can do to look like her. What you're saying they said in the so true so false is pretty much the whole story...

They could've made it a lot longer by explaining her past and how she is know for lip-syncing and they could've talked a lot more about her. This was a huge moment for her. No one expected her to come out and randomly sing a classic song 100% live. I don't know, I mean, they did cover it all, but this was a big deal. It shows she sounds as good as ever and CAN sing live. That's one of the biggest things people hate about her is that she only lip-syncs and for the first time in a decade she didn't. Just don't think it got enough attention. I really wish shows like Wendy Williams and The Talk we're still taping shows right now bc I guarantee they'd be discussing it. But I'm sure a lot of people on social media have taken notice.

This tbh.

People keep saying "but a singer should be singing; it's not a big deal!"

That is true BUT when you have been known for lipsyncing almost your entire career. singing LIVE is a big deal, and thus the media coverage.

And it's Britney Spears. :foh:
