its REALLY sad that GLORY flopped :(

I mean its really really sad to me, its one of her best albums. Every song is a story for itself, and every song is amazing (yes even private show and what you need), every song has a different direction and her voice sounds different in all of the songs, she experimented, played with her vocals, and she genuinely sounds happy, you can hear her it in her voice, thats why I love Glory so much. The album itself is genius, the opening track is perfect, literally Britney inviting us into her own world, and then so wisely closing it with coupure electrique as shoutout to her best album.

Im very happy she gave us Glory after everything she's been through, but im very sad that GP didnt get to hear her talent and her genius :( hoping B10 will be even better than glory (if possible) and that GP will actually hear it and be aware of it :mhm:

P.S. the cover of the album may be a screenshot but nevertheless she looks amazing in it :mhm:

The album is amazing, if RCA had planned it's release better and the original MM video hadn't been canned (which I still believe is their fault) I think the album would've made a bigger impact! A third single would've helped as well!

Also I don't mind the album cover, I never have.....however I have to say it does look better digitally then it does physically.

I really don't know why Britney bothered to call the album "her baby" when she barely promoted it to the public.

It feels like she only wants to promote her album when she feels like it and that's sad. Slumber Party had zero promo, and once again... no third single.

And also... stop blaming RCA. They're not the problem, it's Britney. Avril Lavigne's album under RCA was a flop too and it went 3 singles deep.

It deserved so much better. Which reminds me, Love Me Down and Better are BOPS. I can't get enough of these two songs, they both would have been perfect single choices.

I've played these songs (and Make Me) for so many of my friends who are not Britney fans and they all absolutely love them.

Low key getting sick of this narrative. Did it really flop for a Britney Spears album in 2017. Did anyone really, genuinely, truthfully expect it to top the charts for week and sell millions? If so how deluded.

You all need to accept you're stanning a woman that'll never shift millions of units for an album again.

Make Me is at 1.5million sales Worldwide and that's an excellent number.

Could it have done better? Yes. Should it have done better? Yes. Should it have been handled better? Obviously. But it didn't. She's not the top ***** in charge and never will be again. The fact it sold what it sold in its first week was genuinely surprising to me. She even got her highest charting album in the U.K. since what? In The Zone? That's a success to me.

Success in the industry is different to what it used to be. Accept it.

The album is great, I agree on all that! But the cover is a mess, it's a screenshot...whether she was standing still or filming, but it's a zoomed in screenshot as the rest of the booklet. Even the font is awful...it's like they didn't even try to sell the package for an excellent product which is really weird in terms of marketing :byebitch:

She'll never be on top again coz she's happy the way things are going now, some of you need to face that reality :lemmetellu: She's not like Madonna or katy perry killing for the spotlight and numbers, Britney is not that ambitious though sometimes I wish she would  :whitney:

Its sad you accept her tragic sales when her peers who have been in the industry just as long as her are pushing 600k :angietea: britney could sell that amount if she wanted but she doesn't care, and op needs to realise that its no one's fault but britney's that the gp didn't care or even know about the album

Nobody is saying she needs to sell 1.5 million first week again nor are we expecting 5 #1 singles. (If you do, you're delusional)

But this narrative of putting out a record and then pulling out prematurely is not the tea. First with Britney Jean, now with Glory. Compile that with lackluster promo and she's just setting herself up for a non-event. We love the album and we want people to hear it to praise her craft and work ethic. Is that so wrong? The reception for Glory has been very positive from people who have bothered to listen to it.

Honestly, I don't get her anymore. I can't tell if Britney's doing this because she has nothing else to do, if she really loves music, or just for us... because it's a variety of mixed signals every single time. It's a mess. Scrapping album concepts, scrapping videos, scrapping choreography, next thing you know she's gonna scrap the lead single next year and just drop the album and "k bai see u in 2 years, off to Maui! xoxo B".

If she loves recording but hates promoting, then why bother with the industry pandering dance pop? Go all out with that live instrument indie record she talked about in 2004 or give us a completely urban concept or anything else left field.

I just don't get it. I really don't.

while i do get your point (partly, on one part i strongly disagree with you) nowhere have i mentioned Britney getting high numbers and topping the charts, i simply said i wish GP paid attention to her creation and realized shes a genuine musician, of course sales and topping the charts would be a plus, but the focus of my topic is not on that

to be honest this album brought nothing innovative to the game that was being played at the time, the sounds on this album were done by Selena, bieber and the weeknd.

also the marketing behind this album failed. let alone the cheap cover artwork. the only thing they did right was the slumber party music video but they failed on featuring a high class artist so we got a b artist called tinashe on it.

They hardly used any social media or bought advertisement slots on big streaming services, no tv commercials or advertisments on the street. hardly any tweets with buy my album or on other social pages posts about it. basically they failed in every other department when it comes to market your product in nowadays terms and environments.
