This. It's way too polarizing to be a single; if half of her own fanbase despise the song, then I really can't imagine radios even giving it a chance.

I personally hate the song and have skipped it every time since the very first listen; to me, it just sounds like a cacophony of migraine-inducing experimental dance music. However, I definitely don't take any issue with people that do love the song, since they would likely vehemently dislike some of my own favorite songs.

Toxic was entirely different; while it was experimental and unusual, it was also ubiquitously praised (and its mass appeal has continued to this day).
