Easiest poll I've ever taken. Gimme More.

Yes, BOMT is iconic, a classic, it's what rose Britney to stardom, and without it, we probably would've never gotten Gimme More. However, Gimme More is one of my all time favorite songs of Brit's and in general, whereas I rarely listen to BOMT.

...Baby One More Time of course, what kind of question is that? :girlwhat:

It's crazy to me how some people in these comments act like Baby is the obvious answer and some act like Gimme More is the obvious answer. Some like Baby bc it's a classic and some like Gimme More bc they listen to it more. I just find it interesting.

Didn't think Gimme More would be beating her biggest hit!  Kinda shocked...

I'm not surprised, cause I know it's Exhell, and I know most of the people in here became fans of Britney, with Blackout and GM, precisely when she stopped being the first Britney we got to know, the ones that got to know her since the beginning.

I think GM is a nice song, I just think it's not that great compared to other Britney songs, in terms of rhythm, melody, and the lyric content, even though I usually don't care about that last topic. I also believe you have to like a specific kind of music or beat to like a song as peculiar as GM, whereas BOMT has a more universal appeal. Even the type of people that have that mentality of rock > pop on every instance, by default, have been able to appreciate BOMT's magic. It has gotten so many covers, in so many styles, and yet it's still very distinguishable, if that's a word lol The way it's done is so perfect, that it can be translated to any style without losing its essence. GM, if it's changed in the beat or the arrangement, the instrumental, would end up being a total mess, so I repeat you have to like it the way it is, or you'll hate it.

You say some like BOMT because it's a classic. I disagree. Well, some may use that reasoning, but I think BOMT became a classic in the first place, because it's REALLY good. Sometimes is a classic too, in terms of timing, and obviously that doesn't make it anywhere near as iconic as BOMT. Baby didn't become a classic only 10 years after its release. I remember when Oops came out, BOMT was already seen and respected as a classic and it had been only 2 years since its release. It was instantaneous. Probably GM too, in its own context, but for me GM and its success will always have that connotation that is not as positive as BOMT, just for all the situation that was going on with Britney at the time. But being totally objective, I truly believe BOMT is superior, by far.

If I have to be sincere, I would say, for example, that GM is better than Sometimes, even though I personally prefer Sometimes a million times, but of course I do see the difference in their impact. But BOMT will always beat GM :donewithit:

Off topic, today I was watching Telehit, a Mexican music tv channel, and they were putting 2007 videos I believe, I got to watch Gloria Trevi, Jeans and Rihanna, and they precisely played Gimme More. It's been a while since I last saw it on television, and now that time has passed, the experience of watching it isn't as horrible as back in 2007 when MTV would make me watch it every morning. Just wanted to share :quirkney:
