She should change it up to suit her state of life nowadays - and no that doesn't mean she has to go all Celine Dion in her performances but seeing a different more grown up performance from Britney would be really refreshing! ICouldntThinkOfOne Posted June 21, 2017 Share Posted June 21, 2017 I don't think she's trying to be herself 15 years ago, and recreate Slave 4 U or Toxic, because we all know she's past that, but I do think it comes down her anxiety levels and how comfortable she is feeling onstage, the staging of the show, and her own energy levels. We've had plenty of moments in POM where we've seen the fire that made Britney Britney, and we know she CAN do it, and We have two videos of her doing it (Original Make Me, and Slumber Party) and looking incredible. This comes down to how comfortable or into it she is. Yes, in IABJ, she said she felt awkward being ****, but in IABJ, they also said that she was singing, and she was writing music for bj, and it was filmed by the same group who do Keeping up with the Kardashians. I'm not saying she doesn't feel awkward being ****, but it seemed like more of a cover up or an excuse as to why POM wouldn't be Britney: Better than Ever! She's able to bring the fire when she wants to, in outfits that are crazy **** (Lets not forget her best slave 4 u of the residency was done in a strappy bikini) POM's staging is all over the place, and has been going down hill as she removed chunks of choreo, as well as the fact that the show has atleast three choreographers in numbers (Squared Division, Charm and Chase), with three different styles) , and this doesn't mesh well, and she doesn't know how to fill the space. Usually her shows have had one person, or a team doing it, and marking everything, POM doesn't. and on top of everything, she's going through the motions, she's bored of POM, and its become a task for her. Think back to Brunetteney, Mermaidney, 2016-ney, and all the moments when she's either done something new with her hair, added a new song, or was just feeling it, even Pretty Girls at the BBMA's!. She's not trying to be young, she's just not into it at the moment! Link to comment

I mean, I do not think it is that simple. I do not think she is going out of her way to try to be younger. She just does not seem like she has had a chance to grow up in the last 9 years, being cooped up like a child with her handlers making all of her decisions for her. She made Circus, which was a total mainstream side to music that she tried to shy away from ever since her self titled Britney album. She then made Femme Fatale that was taken over by Dr. Luke and Max Martin. She was pushed in so many different directions from Britney Jean to Pretty Girls. Glory is the first project where she has been hands on and she has had a chance to grow. She almost sounded like her 20 year old self again because that was the last time she was really herself and completely free of all the problems that her failed marriage and other problems brought upon her. We have also seen so much free spirited personality traits coming out since 2015. She is just now looking like she has freedom to do more of what she wants, spending time with her brother who she loves, and just having fun with whatever project she does. It is going to take a while before she finds her groove in all ways where we can all be satisfied. Link to comment

I was watching some interviews from 2001 when she came to Brazil for the first time and every interviewer said the same thing "she's shy, she talks in a really low voice". That's the real her in my opinion; she's quirky, shy, and sometimes she's feeling ****, but it's definitely not the other way around. I believe the oversexual Britney we watched during the ITZ era was part of her "mania" state, she was clearly getting out of herself. Link to comment
