Mmm Papi Appreciation

Released off Britney's sixth studio album Circus, this Latin-pop bop does not get enough recognition. Often being dubbed as one of Britney's worst songs by the Army! Personally, Mmm Papi is a highlight from the second half of Circus. I live for the 60's vibe and all of those **** moans! Any one else agree?

It's a hot mess but I do love it for what it is. A campy, over the top, quirky track.

I have always appreciated Mmm Papi. Its actually one of the more personal tracks she's written if you pay attention to the lyrics. Its obviously about Adnan and there time together. It gives you a peak into what she was feeling during that chaotic time in her life. I love it. I remember reading back when Circus was released that Britney had many different versions of the track because she wanted it to be perfect and had a hard time choosing which version to put on the album.

I really like the song, i think it's fresh and fun.

Actually, where I live (Monterrey, México), it was played on the radios and had moderated success, it was strange because it wasn't a single but i heard it on the radio more times than IUSA.

Right! it's a personal song disguised as a silly pop song. A casual listener wouldn't pick up the meaning

I freaking love Mmm Papi..... one pf my faves, i love her vocals and how she played with them especially the background vocals she did

and it peaked #94 on the Billboard Pop 100

It's a hot mess, quite catchy and I love it but I gotta admit - all the moans and growls and squeeks and the *I'm Mami, and that makes you Papi, and that makes us Luvi* make it sounds like a Trisha Potatos song, which isn't very flattering.

I love Mmm Papi, I found it suprising that some people didn't like it. It sounded urban for the time and quite catchy.

It's only perceived as being disliked because Jordan hated it so much and was always bashing it on here when Circus was released. I always quite liked it myself
