Glory - first listen (after the leak)

Recommended Posts

OK, it's been 8 months since Glory leaked in full. Did you listen to the leaks? How did you react? Do you feel the same way about the album, or time has washed away your love/hate for it?

My story:

When Glory leaked, I was about to go on a vacation. I had all of my bags packed and when I checked BH I was like :sobbing: because the album had leaked.

I was so excited, but I had to leave, since I had a good 3-hour ride till I get to the spot and my friends were already there. I immediately uploaded the leaked tracks on my phone and left. First thing I did when I've reached the highway was to plug in the AUX cable (yes, my phone had and still has headphone jack) and started listening to all of the songs.

I got goosebumps all over my body for almost each track. I had enough time to replay the album for the second time and OMG, the goosebumps reappeared, especially when playing Invitation, Just Love Me, Change Your Mind and Liar.  These songs made me say "OMG, Britney is making great music again, thank you GOD!" I was almost in tears of happiness.

I've spent almost my full vacation replaying only Glory and even more songs reached my heart - LMD, JLM (Just Like Me),  even Clumsy and my all time favorite of course - Make Me. It's a song I never EVER skip. :cuteidk:

I've spent more than 10 days there and around the end of my vacation I was like - I NEED to travel to the nearest mall to get my physical copy of Glory, and I did. Didn't feel like a pirate after all. So i loaded my new CD in the car on my way back to my hometown and re-experienced the excitement all over again. Goosebumps, everything.

And then I was home, and then I opened Exhell and it ruined it for me :umwtf: So many bashers, so many negative people and I was like - I'm leaving. And till this date, if I see negative Glory thread, I skip it. No need to read lame comments for a flawless album :staysalty:

When I saw on Exhale that the album was leaked I wanted to wait until the release but I couldn't resist :makeitrain: so I listened to the 60% of it and I loved it, I immediately thought it was her best album after Itz and Blackout. I don't listen to it very often now so I don't get too used to it. So I definitely love it

I waited until its offical releasedate, avoided exhell for a week and tried to avoid any type of spoiler... for me its a special feeling to wait and have the CD in my hand and look at the booklet and stuff while listening... always liked that, im an oldfashion type of girl when it comes to that and i didnt regret it... every song amazed me and i still think its as good as the first time i heard it :giggleney:

I'm not into leaks, so when I saw it had leaked I avoided all the reviews and wanted the full experience. I listened to it and fell in love. I was like, "This is what I've been waiting for! People are going to love this!"

Then, I started to see a lot of Britney fans bashing the album. I was really disappointed. Sometimes, I have to take a step back from Exhale and tell myself it doesn't matter. There's a lot of negativity on here, and it can make it hard to just enjoy Britney's art.

I was at my cousin's birthday party and had kids running all around meand making noise  so i could really hear the songs good. But i remember just loving some songs and thinking the others were just good. Plus i heard some lq verisons on youtube

however the next day when i heard the album at peace in my room i love them all .:yeahhh: was so excited to see some performances and see the gp reaction.

This album is amazing. It should have been all the tracks plus Mood Ring on standard edition. It's a real gem, real real Gem. I hope B10 will keep up the level of it.

I remember when I heared Invitation i started to cry and when Love Me Down was playing, Better and Change Your Mind i start to shake. I remember my boyfriend sitting in the same room, minding his business but when he have heard those tracks she was like: Oh my ******* God, is that Britney, OMG, that's the best song, OMG she is going to rule the world again... but welp...

And my BF doesn't like Britneys music because of me playing her every occasion I get :D

I listened to 3 songs when it leaked - slumber party, coupure electrique, and invitation. I was omg she sounds incredible but waited for the bangers.

when we got the full album there were no bangers except if I'm dancing. But I still loved it. Man on the moon was strangely my stand out track after complete first listen. The albums mood and the vibe it was **** and it was adult. After all the maya jean drama I was happy with vocals above all.

The album is amazing to me to this day. I literally just bought a vinyl copy and it breathed new life into my enjoyment. in terms of the bashing threads, I'm almost confident they're in regards to the treatment it received. Exhalers are just upset a flawless album didn't get the recognition it deserved.

I was on vacation when the album leaked, and was DYING. I managed to find Just Luv Me on soundcloud, and found a leaked link to Liar.

I finally could download the whole album and listened to the leak the next day when I got home at the gym (my favorite way to digest a new record). I loved Invitation immediately (robotic chorus aside), and I wasn't really HIT until Love Me Down/Better/Change Your Mind that I was like holy ****, this is finally once again an amazing Britney Spears album.

I still think its an amazing piece of work, and Glory still sounds fresh and quality to this day the same as it had. My only issue with Glory is the tracklist - I think most of the weaker tracks are on the standard edition, and all of the bonus tracks (including Mood Ring) should have been on the standard edition. Private Show and What You Need should be completely deleted. What You Need should have been the Japanese bonus track because, eh, it's cute.. but it didn't need to be on any worldwide physical release. Clumsy (unless it had an actual chorus maybe), Just Like Me, and  HTFY all should have been bonus tracks.

I listened to the leak and was so amazed and gobsmacked at the production and her vocals! It was in my top 3 but I think it was the hype that it was such a great album from Britney because as much as I appreciate the album I can't help but feel its too much of the same of what's already on the charts. I miss when Britney used to be a trendsetter, I saw a glimmer of that with Coupure Electrique so I'm praying for B10. This doesn't discredit Glory from being a good album though!
