i feel like madonna is very opportunistic and takes advantage of popular trends such as britney in 03. However i do feel like madonna was genuine in caring about britney so im sure she wanted to reach out to her, but keep in mind b had cut off almost everyone in 07, including her own family. so i doubt madge wouldve been able to contact her anyway, and maybe she felt like it was none of her business and britney had to figure things out on her own. But i overall like to believe madonna meant what she said in FTR

I doubt it would have changed anything. Britney's own family and friends were being shut out at that time. Madonna calling her or doing whatever wouldn't have helped anything. I feel like she didn't know who to trust and was taking advice from bad ppl. Everyone else was prob the enemy, even if they were just trying to help her.  

Also, didn't Madonna also tell her she needs to stop smoking for her health like in 2004 and clearly she didn't listen lol.

Privately, we don't know for sure. Publicly, she discussed working out to Blackout. I remember one reporter shading Break the Ice and she said she loved it.

So what if she did it for publicity? (Which I believe wasn't the main reason) Everyone wins- the kids get a good home, madonna gets some good reputation in return. The end justifies the means.
