ha..good point. I'm surprised. Britney usually loves her attitude songs (like Do Something being performed always and forever). I would have thought that MP was her JAM.

Wasn't MP just before things got crazy for her? I mean she went into C-ship, people tormented her more than usual, she barely left her home at a time, apparently recorded her entire next album on her iphone (read this somewhere - BO with Danja). Sure it's a great song but it's really personal too because it's about people talking about her all the time, judging her and all she wants to do is "make my own decisions". She can't really though right? That c-ship got her on lock.

Given that, I would say it wouldn't be her favourite song to perform until she get's out of her conservatorship (should she choose to).

I could see how maybe she doesn't want to sing those lyrics. But Do Something is from the same era, so in terms of having negative feelings towards the songs, she doesn't seem to (since she loves DS). But yea, maybe the lyrics 'sting' too much right now.

I know what you mean about DS. But again... She did that when she was with people. Maybe she's lost some of her self confidence?

There was a time when Britney Spears was the most beautiful woman in the world, Everyone wanted her or to be just like her. Now she goes on dates with "crocodiles" and has relationships with people her team claim were unfaithful. "I see you loking at me, Like I got what you need". I guess DYWCO is kinda the same feel though...

Sorry! I assess what i'm thinking while I type lol

what? iPhones existed back in 2006/early 2007?

Ok so I realise recording on an iphone was clearly a rumor as it wouldn't have been feasible... The first iphone came out Mid 2007. I should have known better.

I don't know what the truth is behind that time in her life and her BO album. Ignoring the point about the iphone (least important point in my post) you SHOULD be able to somewhat understand that a song about the freedom to live your life ("...let me live") may not be the kindest song to sing since she isn't completely free, has to ask for permission to do things and (I assume) is told what to wear, when to wear it and where to be (has limited freedom). Does MP sound like a song she should sing given this?

I'm probably overthinking it. This is just how I feel. To be honest, if she did have very little say in her life then RCA could tell her "you need to add MP to your tracklisting" and that would be it. Does anyone have any other theories around why she wouldn't sing the OPs song?
