Did Make Me work for you from the first listen or did it need to grow? Was it a good or a bad single choice?

I remember, when I first heard Make Me, I wasn't nearly yet fully impressed.

But I do love her performances with G-Eazy.

I liked it at first listen but I wasn't crazy about it. I still thought it's a good song in general and her vocals were good.

About a month later I can't stop listening to it. Definitely a grower for me. I especially love the first verse

I loved it immediately at first listen and still do, honestly. It's been months, yet I still listen to it all the time! IMO, it's one of the best tracks from Glory and a perfect lead single.

I loved it instantly. My day doesn't feel complete unless I've listened to it at least once.  The bird cawing noises throughout the song gives me life still to this day.

It was a grower definetely, I like it really much now but at the beginning ngl I was expecting something upbeat and danceable which didn't happen with any of the singles from this era  but going back to the point yeah it was a grower and now I love it especially those vocals that my ex bf used to make fun of her lol

when it came out i thought it was nothing like britney and i thought it sounded like she didnt wanna sing it

and i hate it until today even more because of the disaster that was the promo for it

To me, it doesn't sound at all like she wouldn't want to sing it. Her vocals sound so good in it and she is one of the writers.

What i meant was like, it didnt fit britney, her story, personal story at the time

But maybe she was still dreaming of a man on the moon etc? Anybody can dream about a perfect partner. Sometimes seemingly in random moments. BTW when was it recorded and how does it fit her timeline? I am not very good at having these deets in my mind.

I loved it always. Other songs - including lead singles - have taken time to grow on me. But Make Me... has always been magical and is definitely one of my all-time faves.
