We may be smaller now but its a combination of what @me.against.the.b00ty said and the fact that Britneys fanbase is a bit older than others and grew up with the voting and polling eras (ie trl, radio, etc). We are acclimated to it and participate, where other younger fanbases cant be bothered with it. Thats why Britney always wins mv polls, peoples choice awards, #1s on 9@9's and random fandom polls on billboard and other sites every year, even though her base is dwindling.

The answer is that she went up against artists with smaller or less active fanbases. that's all.

this is not true, tho, look. she even won beyonka who's massive the last couple of years (and buys everything). tbh, i think in terms of size of fan base the hive, the navy, the arianators (?) etc are bigger than us..

Which is why I included in my argument both the size and activity of fanbases. Beyoncé's fanbase is big and buys her albums but does not vote for her, request her songs and promote her on social media. Britney was #4 on MTV Stars in 2015 and Beyoncé was #9. Rihanna was even lower. Britney fans are a lot more active than both of them when it comes to social media events. You never see Beyoncé or Rihanna fans requesting on Saturday Night Live, do you?

Winning against Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and Shakira is not really surprising so I'm not sure why you're adding that category. Justin Timberlake does not have a fanbase. The only thing that's surprising is winning against Ariana Grande but we were a lot more organized than usual this year thanks to @Soni .

If you're suspecting that her team bought them then can you answer this? Why didn't she show up with her boyfriend looking hot and stuff to pick up her awards and get promo?

Winning against Kim Kardashian is actually a really big deal. She's one of the biggest social media stars of our lifetime, so to beat her (and for Favorite Social Media Celebrity) is huge. Social media is literally Kim's bread and butter.

Winning a PCA awards requires you to have a dedicated following who repeatedly votes for you everyday for several months like we did. Do the women hitting follow on Kim's page to check her selfies and makeup do that for her? I don't think so. Kim is of course a lot bigger and relevant than Britney on social media but winning a PCA does not require being popular on social media. The PCA don't actually gauge popularity, they're just indicative of having a dedicated fanbase, which is the case of Britney. It's a lot less impressive than it sounds because

1) Kim's followers are mainly there for the content she posts and retweet/like them

2) PCAs are pretty much a  stan war and Kim does not have a dedicated fanbase

but sure, beating Kardashian in this category sounds cool when you ignore these details. britney should be happy, she seems to love posting on twitter and instagram.

her fanbase is not small, that's the thing. people love britney. she's not selling the same amount of CDs (no one but adele is), but the love for her is still there. the thing with britney is, that most of her fans are around 25-35... other things are more important and money mostly tight. buying cds isn't a priority.

+ i don't think only her young hardcore fans voted. housewives love her as well.

Its not far fetched to think RCA struck a deal, their artist won big that night Justin Timberlake took home multiple, Britney took home multiple, G-Eazy took home one, as well as Fifth Harmony. Basically RCA Records swept the music categories

Maybe but don't forget Fifth Harmony fans are voting machines and many Britney fans confessed voting for G-Eazy along the way as well. Only Justin Timberlake winning looks suspicious. BUT if that's the case then they once again get it wrong because half of those acts didn't get exposure from winning. They should have made them record videos at least. Oooh and... if only they learnt how to handle their careers and used those deals and connexions to promote their music instead. I mean... where's the radio payola for Britney and Tinashe? What's good RCA? :xcuseme:
