Exhale+ The Greatest Show Posted January 16, 2017 Exhale+ Share Posted January 16, 2017 Grammy producer cites Spears, Minaj as his most regrettable performances Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich candidly admits that he's made some mistakes in booking the show for the past 35 years. In fact, his biggest regrets are performances by two of the most successful female acts of the millennium: Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj. Ehrlich tells Hits Daily Double that he goofed by allowing Britney's 2000 performance, even though he felt obligated to include her because of her breakout success that year. “We did a thing I don’t know how many years ago called 'Britney’s Incredible Dream' when Britney was the biggest thing in the business. I thought I had to book her,” Ehrlich says. “We did this thing where it opened up with her in a bed as a little girl. Then she did—I don’t remember what song it was—'Baby One More Time.' I thought that was a mistake.” Brit's performance medley included “From the Bottom of My Broken Heart,” which she sang live, badly; and “Baby One More Time,” which she lip-synched while dancing with cyborg-looking backup dancers. The performance was panned, and Spears lost Best New Artist that night in an upset to Christina Aguilera, whom Recording Academy voters seemed to respect more because of her strong voice. https://www.axs.com/recording-academy-s-2017-special-merit-awards-honorees-include-nina-si-111885 I think it sounds like he hated the idea of the performance more than actually inviting Britney but still... Anti-Hero
Yeah I've read that. In other news, the 2000 Grammy's had their best ratings in the past 23 years. Ha impact. Link to comment

People from the Grammys never ever liked Britney, never respected her. They are trash and boycott her. Yeah I always thought that they saw her as a glorified dancer and had no respect but how can you tell an interviewer something like that? Thats super rude. She was so young back then I think its really nasty to critisize the style of the performance. Sure its a bit childish but she was a kid back then back the **** off. I do understand them critisizing lipsyncing at the Grammys tho. 1 minute ago, BritintheZone said: Not my favorite performance either wayyyyy but its better and more entertaining than **** they put on today agree 1 minute ago, GrotesqueDiva said: You're 10 years late darling I just read it today. sorry. Streets
Honestly, what's the point of saying any of this? He's just being a complete *********, and confirming their anti-Britney bias. He stated all perfect reason to have her perform - she was the biggest thing in the industry, and she was up for top awards. End of story. Also, what does her talent (or his opinion of her lack thereof) have to do with how well her music revived pop, set trends, and captivated audiences at the time? The Grammys are such a joke, and they have been ever since it was exposed they could be bought with enough persuasion. 46 minutes ago, britneymatangi said: grammys can kiss my *** T B H Link to comment

BOBIBCFBG
Yeah I read that before. I don't think the Grammys see her as a true artist - prob bc of all the lipping and she doesn't co-write most of her music. I loved the 2000 performance. It's cheesy and tacky AF lol but it wasn't bad back then. And at least she sang live (at least FTBOMBH...). Link to comment

prettylittleliar_2214
Lol they love Taylor Swift performances and she has never sung on key and can't dance at all so pfft to his commentary. I thought her Grammy performance was good. Not her best but still good. Link to comment
Body ache
Theyre probably mad they didnt go with Xtina instead, but what they dont know it that it would have been a shouty mess and worse than Britney's. Link to comment
GetBack98
I just rewatched it and she didn't sing it that bad, sure her technique wasn't the best and she may not have had a powerhouse voice but she did her thing and she was on key. Her dancing was amazing she really showed how multi talented she is. I agree on how the concept was messy and weird but still nothing to be ashamed of Link to comment
