UPDATE 3: The voting member said that what makes an artist be nominated is the Label's campaign, like everything in music, and that's why sometimes we see songs/albums that doesn't deserve to win winning. There are so many things involved, artist/producer/label/... and that on December 6th we will know if she was nominated. The voting member said "I Believe she Will"..."

So basically say goodbye to the nomination. That update means that they nominate (especially pop act) based on the Charts, Social Media Impact, Quality, Labels pushing for the Nomination, Fathers pushing for the nominations of theirs daughters.

The last time Britney was nominated for a Grammy was because she have a HUGE song on the charts (Womanizer)

They should've submitted MM for nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Rihanna has won it a lot, for tracks like "Umbrella," where the rap is just a feature instead of a collaboration. JT also won the same Grammy for "My Love" (Feat. T.I.). I really think Britney and G-Eazy would have a good shot at that.

Britney basically got nominations on the Grammys during her prime because her commercial success on the charts (BOMT-OIDIA-BRITNEY) she was the best selling female artist with those albums.

BOMT: HUGE era: 2 nominations (Best Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for BOMT)

OIDIA: HUGE Era: 2 nominations (Best Female Pop Vocal Performance & Best Pop Album)

Britney: HUGE era she was everywhere on the US. 2 nominations: Best Pop Album & Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (Overprotected)

In The Zone: only the nomination and winning for Toxic for Best Dance Recording. But ITZ (album) deserved nominations. :(

Blackout: No commercial success = no nominations

Circus: Huge First Single (her second #1 in the US since Baby One More Time) she got the nomination for Best Dance Recording (but Poker Face was a bigger song at least on the Charts) I think Circus don't got nominations because after the first month she stop promoting the album and the sales start declining after the first 2 months.

Femme Fatale: Not Huge Songs on the Charts (TTWE was big but not that big like Womanizer for example) and not huge Album on the Charts.

Britney Jean: Flop Album, Bad Album.

Glory: Its Amazing but it's a flop, and if Blackout don't got any nomination I don't think Glory would get a nomination :(

3 minutes ago, that's really cool. said:

I seriously don't care if she wins anything all I want it for her to at least be nominated. Glory certainly deserves that

I agree, it's mostly symbolic but even a nomination would indicate a level of respect from both the Academy Members and her peers, and recognition for the fantastic pop album that is Glory.

Girl this ain't the Billboard or AMA's which are almost purely based on chart success.

The Grammys are 100% based on the strength of an artist's/label's campaign to get the academy to vote for them...hence Beyoncé and her gazillion Grammys.

Basically you have to kiss their ***** to get nominated...

Britney won't do that, she wants them to kiss her *** :saycheese:

What kind of campaign are we talking about, exactly?
