Glory(Hole)
I remember not being surprised at all when it shot to number 1. Back then she had a lot of hype and buzz around her so it made sense. Link to comment
Asakura Hao
Kinda weird how songs like Crazy, Oops, Toxic, Circus etc. failed to do that but 3 did. I mean I absolutely love 3 but its impact and longevity cannot be compared to those. Link to comment
Body ache
Give it to Britney to have a risque song debut at #1 Link to comment
PBoy
Pop Masterpiece Max Martin Peter Paul & Mary Subminal '' Everybody Loves Countin' / Everybody Loves Cummin' '' Perfect instrumental Great production (Verses/Pre-Chorus/Chorus/Bridge) There you have it! N#1 Link to comment
Guest Diamond Horse
Yeah after all it has to do not only with her star power at that time, but also with the song's was catchiness. Link to comment

Hypnotherapy
The charts changed since then, airplay and streaming didn't count as much as pure sales. I remember being quite surprised it debuted at #1. Streaming is what stops Britney from debuting super high these days I think. Link to comment
alexdaily
'Cause it's a great song and super catchy, which differs a lot from her current singles sadly. Link to comment
BRING THE NOISE
Because it's produced by Max Martin Link to comment

It's IWG's cousin so it's only natural that it would do well too. yes! those songs were recorded in 2009. check the credits on IWG and some other FF songs. Literally in 2 days she recorded 3 or 4 songs, including "3" "IWG" and I think Up n Down Link to comment
Cappycorn87
This was back when you could shoot up the charts off of just digital sales The charts have changed since then Link to comment
troubleguy
bcoz billboard rules were simple, only by sales songs could debut higher places unlike currently streaming, radio etc but song slays and gp was still thirsty for brits new songs Link to comment
Britneybbhmm
Love the song! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaare u in? Livin' in sin is the new thing" Link to comment

IUSM
Because 3 is an uptempo, unlike Make Me... and Plumber Party. The GP loves Britney's uptempos! Link to comment
AndrejBLV
Because she was still huge. FF era destroyed her reputation and she lost biggest amount of her fans during that period. Link to comment
Pinky98
HIAM and S&M both went #1 too. At the time I didn't realise as I was like 13, but her star power was ******* huge. She OWNED the business back then. Beyoncé was doing OK back then, lady Gaga was just emerging/early in her career and Katy perry was peaking. Britney still shat all over their sales. its a shame, she wasn't even defeated back in 2012/13 but for some reason she admitted defeat anyway and went to Vegas. X factor and Vegas ruined her career. Shame really Link to comment
Lutz
Billboard was listing songs by how much they sold and it was the best selling song of that week. Same applies for Hold It Against Me. And S&M remix. Link to comment
