GP can keep their **** basic acts tbh.

I compare today's music with music in the past because I'm smart. I don't forget about great artists just because there's a million newer (way more crappy)  ones.

Justin beiber for example,  very popular,  basic as ****. Barely any talent and pretty much only makes headlines for his bratty attitude.

Endless crappy slow repetitive "dance" music does not interest me, no matter how many **** producers are pushing it.  give me older dance music or FF album any day.  (real dance music)  Calvin Harris,  avicci, major lazor and all these crappy "producers" are all basic as **** with shallow hollow songs that feel plastic and cold rather than good or decent   "so baby pull me closer in the backseat of your rover that I know you can't afford.."  blah blah blah ****** yawn..  Unrelatable and  so basic.  It's like government are creating dance music now!

I appreciate artists that made a name for themselves before technology and are ACTUALLY ORIGINAL!

Michael Jackson

Britney

Eminem.

Even twenty one pilots (refreshing in these charts full of sugar coated *****!)

Nowadays any shity vaine human can be a "pop star"  thanks to the GP having no standards anymore.  The Internet cramming basic artists down our throat . I swear in this day and age of X factor,  the voice geordie shore,  etc people are getting more judgemental and yet have no standards of quality of music.  have people forgot about the amazing era in music which was the late 90s and 2000s.

Remember  10 odd years ago when some people would complain about Britneys **** videos,  she had the perfect mix of sexyness and not being cocky about it.  Whilst today Arianna grande acts like a slutty pornstar in her vids and it's so in your face and no one says anything!  stupid people!

Even Dance music is simply made for the masses now.  Theres no art behind it. It's made simply for the money.  Cuz them sweaty steroid infused idiots will listen to any **** as long as every one else is.

Beiber has that song " I'll be your lifeline tonight " for someone that acts like a prick to his fans.  That song is almost a complete joke to be sung by him.  Also "love yourself"  why is someone who's been consistently acting like a vaine spoilt brat singing a song like that??  All his songs are damage control,  that magically overnight excuse his own disgusting behaviour. It's so fake and shallow!  . And no one catches on!

And yet Britney ( who remained humble through her troubles)  had to take so much **** before people started understanding.

Why do all these new singers that have only done like 2 songs have such big egos already??  It's a joke.

Only artists like Britney deserve to have such an ego,  yet she's the sweetest celebrity there is. She's real.  She don't need to act like a **** to become popular.  Dua lipa (or whatever your name is I'm talking to you MAN VOICE)

Music is like Disney.  It used to be so good.  But nowadays people will watch /listen to anything as long as everyone else is,  therefore quality  goes down over time.

Today's music,  if it's popular,  chances are it sucks.  I'm sorry but even drake is basic as **** talent wise.  nicki minajs "rap"  in Ariannas side to side is awful!

There will never be another singer with Britneys unique success ,  these perry's and grandes and the hundreds more to come can try if they must.  Just stop making basic music that appeals to gullible idiots (Fifth harmony - I'm worth it- that's my girl)  lol trash.

Thank god Britney as an artist just gets better and better.

Britney is still completely relevant,  unfortunately there's a million other trashy wannabes taking up precious space in the charts.

Britney is the best damn artist for all reasons.  Talent,  voice,  originality,  personality,  passion and hard working .

Rant over.

Well finally someone said it

I COMPLETELY agree that dance music is not what it used to be

it's all "chill" dance music and I really hate that genre bc since when is dance music supposed to be "chill"?

I mean I was a big Calvin Harris fan a few years back but "my way" isn't really anything special, I was kinda hesitant with TIWYCF so I don't think a Britney x Calvin Harris collar wouldn't be a good thing like it would have before

and now that I think of it, good thing that Britney isn't really high in the charts with the other basic people bc within a few months, the songs are long forgotten and seem to fall off the face of the earth

Britney Spears is the only female artist of her generation with actual blockbuster success (A.K.A 20m selling albums) with her first two albums "Baby one more time" and "Oops I did it again". Subsequently she found a streak of big albums such as "Britney", "In th zone", "Greatest hits: My Prerogative" and "Circus" and moderate success / hits with "Blackout" and "Femme Fatale" prompting her to slay for 8 consecutive albums (more than any artist from her generation).

Many people forget she has released 9 studio albums and 2 major compilations. Nowadays being a legendary artist with a lot of catalogue, she finds success in other forms, still with her lower eras "Britney Jean" and "Glory" she is still pulling a $100 million grossing game changing Vegas show, getting top 20 hits, making the forbes lists every year and winning awards.

She's a huge Pop icon and many people underrate her great career just because there are more popular artists now on the charts.

 I agree so much!

Yes, her first two albums were huge here, in the United States alone!

Baby One More Time sold 10.6 million and Oops sold 9.2 million. Those are huge numbers. The young generation today don't know how huge she was from 1999 to 2002.

Baby sold 14 million and Opps did 10+ Million!

She sold a lot of albums through Columbia House Music and BMG!

You can label Vegas as game changing after new artists are dying to do that too not when currently flopping artists are doing it. (No shade to MiMi and Cher tho)

The only thing on Earth that is praising Vegas is this delusional fanbase.

MC and Cher is LEGENDARY they don't have to sale another record, their legacy will remain well and in tact!

The fact that during her prime EVERYBODY knew her is enough I guess. I mean in every country, every city...everywhere. I was born in Iran and it used to be a restricted islamic country but even then everyone knew her, one way or another , some only heard her name and... It's a big deal. I can only say this about Michael Jackson and Madonna tbh. No one else. Now everyone has instagram, facebook... and..all countries everyone are aware what's happening but to have such an impact back then is unbelievable.

Exactly!

She did it without all the social media we have today and it was no YouTube around or any of that!

Looking back technology and the internet ruined the music industry pretty much!

Most people didn't even have internet in city. And I bought her videos from someone who sold pirated movies  yet she was huge and everyone knew her. I found out about her with Gameboy's game imagine now people have apps and all phones are the same. But Britney's impact reached people like me who only had a gameboy and never listened to american music before.

I think it's weird how all these dance producers are making the exact same type of music.  Slow,  repetitive,  and basic with a boring drop and laughable lyrics.  Calvin Harris is the most paid "dj" right now and songs like "my way"  are boring as **** and just pointless make.

It's ruining music and it pisses me off how no one seems to notice.  Dance music used to be my favourite growing up,  but it's ruined for me now.  I can't stand nowadays "dance music"  it's cheap easy and sounds like it's been made by a 10 year old.

The only people even nominated for awards anymore are predictable: Drake,  beiber,  fifth harmony etc

Basically nowadays a crap song gets overplayed to ****,  by radio,  tv, whether it be Rihanna - work or Calvin Harris - my way etc and because it's been ridiculously overplayed to the point where I'm physically sick of the song  it then gets nominated for a award simply for being overplayed.  It doesn't even matter if people Like it or if its physically a good song.

The Internet, X factor and stupid people are ruining music.

Britney makes better music than all these basics.  I'm not a hater at all.  I love all different types of music.  But it really pisses me off how music is like chosen for us.

The charts are boring when the artists on them are so predictable.  And the music is so predictable.

Basically a shitty repetitive dance song about nothing + music video which includes the ocean / poor countries / or a couple kissing on holiday etc = top ten hit

It's been done so many times this year alone,  yawn

The reason I love twenty one pilots is because their music is completely different from today's trash.  Same with Britney,  they make music they like!  Not for the sake of money!

As a kid I never thought I'd see the day when "dance music"  is boring.  Literally even the videos are boring.  It's literally footage of waves and street signs in poor countries etc

The world needs Britney, music would be ruined without her.

I was saying that the internet and much as I love it Streaming is ruining the industry... something has to be done so both sides can be happy!

Also all of today's artists is so cocky and big headed & I absolutely no idea why ... From KP, Gaga, TS, Nicki, Drake, Ariana all these acts have HUGE egos and don't have nearly the talent to back it up and hasn't really done anything for music or their genre

The artist of today definitely have it easier today with all of the nonsense that we have in the world today and we all of the different rules on Billboard it's easier than it ever was to get a hit smh

She was born with that mysterious X factor, charming, beautiful, ****, talented, she became iconic since her very first beginning. There was always something about her that made her unique. You couldn't take her eyes off her.Breath taking performances. She is a special case. There are people who would kill to become famous/remain in the spotlight and Britney became the center of attention without even trying much.Even her 2007 meltdown is more iconic than others whole careers.:wannadie:

**** but sweet.Young but professional.Superstar but down to earth and southern. She had it all.

You have to have some years and lots of success to do Vegas like all the acts there have, so new artist will never stand a chance since they have neither.
